Fill your kitchen with the smells of fresh-baked bread. Make scrumptious yet inexpensive, bakery-style artisan bread in your own home with the West Bend Hi-Rise Breadmaker. This breadmaker features 11 pre-programmed digital settings including basic, French, quick super rapid, dough, bake, and whole wheat for different recipes and tastes. In addition, it allows for customizable home-made settings for complete personalization - easy enough for beginners and satisfying for the experienced. The dual kneading blades of the West Bend breadmaker help for thorough dough kneading for a good taste. In addition to making 4 different loaf sizes, this versatile breadmaker has 3-level crust control to bake bread light, medium and dark to suit everyone's taste. A very advantageous aspect of this dual blade breadmaker is its ability to make gluten-free, low carb, white, and whole wheat bread. With dishwasher-safe pan and blades, this breadmaker is easy to clean.
I did some research online to find the "perfect" bread machine for me. This machine was rated #2 for the Best Overall Bread Machine. As a stay at home Mom I needed a machine that was affordable but also easy enough to use for a beginner. I've made bread just about every other day since owning it for just over 2 weeks now. Every loaf has turned out nicely! The recipes that came with it are very easy to follow. I will say this, during one kneading cycle the machine started to make a horrible grinding noise-I soon realized that I had not pushed the kneading blades all the way down properly. Quick fix! The machine is very quiet and does not move around on the kitchen countertop. Would definitely recommend this machine to anyone looking for a great product at a very reasonable price!!

Review 4 for West Bend Hi-Rise Breadmaker
Better than expected

I ordered this breadmaker about 3 weeks ago. I decided to get this one because it got good reviews. I was concerned about few people who posted negative feedback, but I decided to give it a try… I am very busy person, AND I don’t even know how to cook – never cooked or baked in my life. Saying that, it was my this NY resolution to learn ;)) so I decided to start with this breadmaker. I honestly don’t know how some people managed to screw it up, how their bread wasn’t fully baked, and/or how it didn’t turn out the way it should have using just the instructions it came with… I never baked before, and I got it right from the first time. As any new appliances, it needs to burn off all manufacturing residuals first, so don’t plan on eating your first bread. So far I baked 2 full loaf breads, and it turned out great. I used 2.5lbs setting on dark with 390 degrees. First loaf was a little heavier than I like it, so for 2nd loaf I added a little more water than the recipe said, and it turned out just the way I like it. After using it 2 times, I called the manufacturer and ordered double loaf pan for making smaller breads. It works great, but making smaller loafs needs an adjustment because it only makes 1lbs loaf vs 2.5lbs I made before. Like I said, I am not a professional baker, so I had to figure out how to adjust ingredients accordingly. This product works better than I expected. I don’t have to do a thing – just to put all stuff in, and push start. That’s it… for someone like me who doesn’t have a clue what kitchen is about this product is a life saver. It takes more space than I expected, but it is worth it.

I bought this breadmaker because I wanted to make my own organic whole wheat bread for everyday use, and let me tell you, I am not disappointed!! I have had this breadmaker for about a week, and I've made 3 perfect loaves of bread, dough for pita bread, and dough for homemade donuts. There will also be lots of pizza dough and cinnamon rolls in the future! The breadmaker is very versatile with lots of settings. The pan is nonstick and very easy to clean. Instructions are simple and you can adapt any bread recipe to work in the breadmaker. I'm a very happy customer!

Easy to use, easy instructions and recipes. It`s my very first bread machine and my very first loaf turned out really good, all gone that same day! Makes me fell better knowing that me and my family are eating not only a delicious bread but also a healthier one, using all natural/organic ingredients, no preservatives, no high sodium, no HFCS nor other hidden 'un-natural flavors'

Review 11 for West Bend Hi-Rise Breadmaker

I replaced a 15 yr old bread machine that I used occasionally for pizza dough or cinnamon rolls. I have not purchased a loaf of bread since purchasing this item. I bake once or twice a week - whole grain breads. The family loves the breads. I have owned this bread machine for 5 months and had immediate success without complaints. I was not an experienced bread maker. Love it! Easy to use - very consistent and durable. Excellent product.

Do not use the recipes out of the manual. They dont work, Go on the internet and get recipies from Kraft and Betty Crocker. There are plenty of recipes on the internet. Have fun. Also, this bread machine is on the top 10 list of good bread machines.

Disappointed!

I have owned a breadmaker for years and decided to upgrade to this one. I tried three loaves, all tried and true recipes I have used many times and none of them came out right. One did not rise, one came out lopsided. I returned it, with no problems..

We make a lot of bread and have previously owned a Breadman and a Zojirushi. I thought I would try a less expensive model this time to see if it was a good bargain. So far, I was disappointed to learn that although the on-line product description said "Dishwasher-safe pan and blades" according to the printed manual they must be hand washed. While hand washing the bread pan after baking the first loaf I noticed a very small lump of what appeared to be the non-stick coating near the top of the pan. When I ran my fingernail over it, it popped off taking a bit of the coating with it. Aside from those two issues we have so far made three lovely loaves of bread.

Don't buy this machine. We had a Breadman for about 10 years. It made 2-3 loaves per week the whole time. We retired it only because the pan broke and we couldn't find a replacement. This machine doesn't mix the dough, evidenced by salty areas in the loaf.

We are enjoying the variable loaf sizes and the shape. Excellent quality bread from enclosed recipes. Physical size a bit large if you don't have much storage and wish the recipes were in separate booklet from instruction manual. Thumbs up though!

I love this machine!! I have to say the instruction manual could be better written, it isn't very clear instructions. I am new to bread making and a little more detail would have helped. Once I figured it out I had success! I highly recommend this machine!!
