The Step2 Play 101-Piece Food Set offers kids an endless assortment of foods to play with so that they can create their own meals and learn in the process. Kids can imagine that they are cooking with the Step2 Play Food Set and pretend to serve their friends delicious meals that they've cooked themselves. With 101 pieces, this is a big play food toy set that complements any play kitchen set, but can be used on its own for fun and educational play. The children play food set includes items like fruits, vegetables, meats, bread, pastries, ice cream, sandwiches and snacks. The Step2 Play 101-Piece Food Set does not include the pictured basket.
They are great little accessories, HOWEVER, the amount is just too much. I keep more than half in a box on top of his little kitchen. Otherwise it's a pain to clean up. My 2 yo son has a blast with them though, and it's something my 9 yo step daughter can join in playing with him. He likes pretending to eat the food and cook on his stove. Great purchase overall.

Most of them stay hidden...just my little advice.

Review 5 for Step2 Play Food Set, 101 Pieces
American Plastic My Very Own Kitchen bundle

The Step2 Play Food Set came as part of the bundle with an American Plastic My Very Own Kitchen. The 101 food pieces are nice but very inconsistent in sizing relative to the other pieces. Either the broccoli is giant or the chicken is in miniature. Some fit on the plates that came with the kitchen, some don't. There's really no rhyme or reason to the sizing but kids compensate to the weirdness pretty well.
The thing I think that should be commented on this set is the kitchen itself. If it was actually made in America, shame on us. The fitment of the pieces and screw holes is atrocious. Because of the sloppy manufacture, the tools you will need to do the kitchen assembly right would be a DRILL to open holes that weren’t opened after the molding process and to align them to the pieces they are intended to connect with. WIRE CUTTERS to separate ALL of the pieces (I am serious when I mention it’s every single piece# left connected together in the molding process. UTILITY KNIFE to remove all the sharp edges left after you cut the pieces apart to assemble the kitchen because it’s next to impossible to cut close enough to not leave rough edges hanging out there for kids to hurt themselves on. The utility knife is also a must to open the slots that should be open for some of the assembly steps #but aren't#. ELECTRIC SCREW DRIVER so you can assemble this thing in under an hour #without you are seriously looking at least a couple hours assembly time). REALLY GOOD LIGHTING so you can find the letters stamped in the back of the pieces for assembly. If you aren't mechanically inclined - spend the money and by a preassembled version. If you are mechanically inclined like I am, brace yourself for an awesomely poor experience. Good thing the kid liked it in the end. The bundled food pieces is the only thing that saved the rating.

Good size playset for the money but some of the food is not well proportioned ie taco is twice the size of the fruit and some of the food is difficult to decide what it is. The kids still play with it a lot.

as described. kids love them. i think some of the reviews r too harsh. they r small because they go with the play kitchen and grills. if they were any bigger, then they wouldn't fit in the pots and pans. there is a nice variety of foods, and my kids recognized them easily. yes some of it is junk food, but a lot was fruit and vegetables. also....it's a toy! not every toy has to be pure educational. kids r going to see junk food and eat it eventually. these are simply plastic foods for the kids to play and pretend with. exactly as described and pictured.

I find this food set to be something that will stand up to the torture that 2 and 3 year old boys can dish out. This will allow them to cook in their new kitchen while I am in the kitchen cooking, letting them learn about cooking and food items in their own space. They are sure to get plenty of use from this set since my family usually gets in the kitchen to cook together. I wish had bought this earlier! Great Item!

I purchased the Play Food Set package along with the Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen for a Christmas gift. They were both shipped in time for Christmas. o<|:{ My niece (4 yrs old) loves playing with it and it was her favorite gift. This was my first time purchasing on line from Walmart and not only do I recommend the items purchased but purchasing online, was so convenient.

This play food seems to be pretty durable so far. I think the food may vary in texture because I read in a previous review that the bacon and tortilla were made from a rubbery flexible material, but mine is made from a hard solid plastic and i'm afraid my son might crack them in half if he tries to bend them. He has the American plastics Cookin kitchen and some of the food doesn't fit in the pans that came with it, but those pans are VERY TINY. If you have a step2 kitchen the food should fit fine. Other than those minor problems it is a nice set for the price and my son loves it.

My children are budding chefs and love to cook up food in their play kitchen! The kitchen is great, but having the food really makes it come to life for them!

Too many pieces. They are not sized nor made to interact with each other, i.e. you can't build a sandwich eventhough you have all the pieces. They don't fit most kitchen sets cooking pans nor dishes.

We love this kitchen! It was very easy to put together and seems sturdy. We like that it has storage for the food and other accessories. My husband and I purchased it for our 21 month old but out 6 year old loves it just as much. Very good buy for the price.
