Excellent TV, excellent price, Awesome picture!!! Easy setup and installation. Buy this TV, you won't regret it! The only thing lacking on the beauty is the sound quality. Everything else is wonderful. 1080p is far superior to 720p, and 120hz is way better than 60hz!!!! I LOVE THIS TV!!! It's my little slice of Heaven. One of the best investments I've made.

tweak settings for best pic, 11/17/2009

This was a early black friday special for $700 (normally $1200) recommend using a hdmi cable (not included ($25). these are the settings I used to tweak my pic sets for awesum pics. My results using a Sencore VP-403 (calibrated yearly) signal gen and various inputs/resolutions into my LC-46D62U. One thing to note is the drastic difference between 480i component input and HD component input with regards to the brightness (black level) setup.

The only control I tweak is the backlight setup (depending on room lighting conditions). Ex. -11 works well in a completely dark room; standard (mid) to 12+ for when the lights are on/sunny room.

Great TV, 11/16/2009

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

I got this on the pre-black friday sale for $698. It's a great TV I have pent several weeks researching TV's and was ecstatic to land this one for this price.
Out of the box the settings are spot on. I tried tweaking them some to see if it got any better but went back to pre-sets and they are great. My Wii and standard DV player look fantastic as do over the air hig def shows. now granted we went form a 19 inch tube tv to this one so anything is going to be better. My sister has a Sony XBR and we both agree that you can't tell the difference. The sound is adequate but we have a surround system that makes them a mute point.
It isn't full of bells and whistles which is fine with me because they end up being ignored anyway.
I highly recommend this TV and if you can get it on sale go for it!

Didn't go into the store with the intention of getting this TV at the Pre-Black Friday sales event. We wanted to get 42" set but as it turned out they sold the last one to the guy in front of us. We decided that we weren't going home empty-handed and spent the extra $$$ on the 46". Got the set home and fired it up for the 1st time. We also picked up the $148 Sony Blu-Ray so what better choice to see what this set could do? WOW! Was I blown away! Without any 'tweaking' of the picture controls the image was amazing. DishHD looks great. Games on my XBox 360 look better than ever. Agree with previous reviews regarding the sound quality. While not bad, it does not really impress like the video. I will be rectifying that by upgrading the sound with either a true surround system or a sound bar/sub-woofer combination.

Was gonna wait for the Black Friday deals but after seeing the Black Friday ads updates on other websites decided to go with this T.V. Really didn't see anything come close to this T.V. 46" 1080P 120Hz for less than $700. This is an amazing deal. I did almost wait too long because it was on sale for $698 on the first Friday of November and I bought it on Friday before the sale ended. Got lucky there was only one left in one store out of five Wal-Marts in my area.

Now about the T.V. itself. Out of the box it only took me about ten minutes to have it plugged in and have my PS3 and surround sound system all hooked up. The sound is non-issue for me because of the aforementioned sound system. I had the same issues that just about everyone else had with the picture being a bit too dark in some scenes. After checking the instructions found out how to disable the auto-dimming feature. It's under picture tab, the OPC, set it OFF. Other than that for the price I can't complain.

The only faults I found was that yes I wish it had a USB or Media card slot. Other than that I am very happy with my T.V.

Can't believe we found a 46in 120Hz at such a great price. My family and I are very happy with our purchase. The tv didn't look all that great on display, but it really looks great once you get everything hooked up at home, trust me. We took a chance and we're glad we did. We are still AMAZED!

**Be sure to call your cable company to send you a HD box for crystal clear picture - AND - If you didn't have a DVR before - now would be a good time to get one.

Review 9 for Sharp 46" Class 120Hz 1080p LCD HDTV, LC46SB57UN

Steal of the year!, 11/11/2009

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

LC46SB57UN - I have to write the whole story. After a day-long research on Saturday, my mind was set on Sharp Aquos or Toshiba Regza models, both of which had good reviews. Just before going to bed, I was browsing a few websites featuring black-friday deals and found this on WalMart's website for an unbelievable price. Called up the nearest WalMart and found out they had already sold out. Disappointed, called the next one in the neighborhood and found out they had a few, but the sale may end mid-night. Picked it up right away, hooked up to the antenna, scanned for channels and what I saw was just amazing. Agree that the sound quality is not great, but okay for regular channels. Hooked up the TV to the home theater first thing Sunday morning, watched 3 NFL games and Desperate Housewives. Just didn't want to move away from the TV. The picture is just amazing. The features are excellent, including OPC. but I think a slot for USB and/or SD Card would have made this a complete package. I have owned a 21" CRT SHARP TV for about 12 years and has changed places from living room to bed room and now to guest room. It still works great and I hope this one lasts loooong too.

Review 10 for Sharp 46" Class 120Hz 1080p LCD HDTV, LC46SB57UN

Size Doesn't Matter, 11/11/2009
By Rdale24
Overall Rating: 1 out of 5 1 out of 5

Televison has very poor picture and sound quality. The refresh rate is mediocre at best. The speakers sound like very cheap coaxials that begin to distort at 30% volume. Blu-Ray movies do not appear to be HD on this television. My 3 year old 60hz 720p Aquos model Sharp has far better sounds and picture quality. I honestly wouldn't sacrifice quality for screen size. That is all...

Great Picture right out of the Box, 11/10/2009
By covinabornhippy, Albuquerque, NM
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Had it out of the box, set up and watching in 1/2 an hour. Great picture quality right out of the box! Have only had it for 4 days, but so far so good. Remote control easy to use, straight forward. Stand easy to assemble, but is ridged, wish it swiveled and tilted? Several people complained about the sound, but I think its fine? Not going to blow you away, but does the job. You want blown away, get a cheap surround sound unit? I’m sure it will be even better when I get the time to tweak it a bit, increase the bass. Better than average tuner, good signal even with a cheap pair of rabbit ears! Much better than the converter box I was using with my old TV. All this and considering what I paid , it just doesn’t get any better than this!

Great T.V., 11/09/2009

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Got this T.V. on pre black friday sale for $698. It is an awesome T.V. I wasn't expecting it to be so good at this price. It is much better than a 42" vizio that we have in the bedroom. Xbox 360 games look fantastic, and so do hd movies from dish network. My only complaint is that the sound isn't that great. Don't get me wrong, it isn't terrible, but my old DLP projection t.v sounded better, but it also had bigger speakers. I have surround sound hooked up, so it really isn't an issue. If you can still find it for $698, it is a steal.

Love this TV was going to purchase the previous model of this TV, was about $130 cheaper at my store, but did not stock it anymore, but found out this TV was copming out, i made up my mind to get it. I have had no complaints about this TV except that the adaptive lighting thing that dims the picture in low-light settings was on and it was really annoying, but a 5 minute call to SHARP did the trick. Great customer service. The guy knew exactly what to do. VERY pleased with this TV. I would recommend this TV or any SHARP TV to anyone.

Better Than Expected, 05/25/2009
By Soliasi, Salt Lake City, Utah
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

I reviewed TV's online for almost 6 months prior to purchasing this one. I was on a strict budget and I debated between all stores, not just the options at Walmart. In particular, I was heavily leaning towards the Vizio 120hz TV, but for the price it just didn't make sense. It was cheaper elsewhere.

The night I walked into the store, I decided on getting either the 46'' Sharp, 46'' Phillips, or 46'' Sony. At the time, they did not stock the 120hz versions, just the standard 60hz 1080p TV's. The Phillips was cheaper than the Sharp, but by only $50. The Sony was much more expensive and I didn't read anything spectacular about it when comparing the TV's extensively. To my surprise they pulled out the 120hz from the back room, it was my lucky day.

This TV has worked amazingly since the day I purchased it. Blu-Ray is amazing on it, Xbox 360 is leaps and bounds ahead of what I was getting before, and now I have every reason to get HD Satellite, it is so choice.

Setting up the TV was a breeze, out of the box the picture was amazing, using a calibration BD it fine tuned the settings and made it that much more enjoyable. It has so much more potential in the picture settings, but I just don't know enough of what to change and I'd hate to screw it up. This puppy could really use a paid service calibration, I can tell it was manufactured to do so.

I have had no issues with the television, it has worked flawlessly. I do have one minor grip, however, when playing a game, or changing channels, or when viewing a scene that has low light the TV has an auto feature in it that dims the screen until something brighter comes on. I'm sure it's something that can be altered in the settings but I haven't found it yet. It's not that big of a deal, but mainly when playing games, if I am in a part that has very low light (i.e. Dungeon in Oblivion, Left for Dead), sometimes it dims so much that I can't see what I'm doing on the game. I wish it wouldn't do that but it's not that big of a deterent. I would recommend this TV to everyone, it handles so well. Everyone that sees it is jealous. Best TV I have owned! I have the following hooked up to it via HDMI; Xbox 360, Blu-Ray, HD Satellite, Pioneer Elite Receiver. Enought HDMI to go around.
