Ok for price
05/03/2010
My only problem with this is after 4 Blue ray discs it started taking forever to access and play if it would at all. I had no problems playing all my DVDs on it with no issues at all. Avatar BRD would not load past the warning screen like it locked up and stopped reading disc, and would not respond to remote and or buttons on front. Otherwise no issues for what I paid for it.

Pioneer BDP-120FD BD-Live Blu-ray Disc Player
02/25/2010
I have always had excellent results with Pioneer Stereo gear and products. The Pioneer BDP-120FD BD-Live Blu-ray Disc Player is a great product for the price, I payed less than 1/2 of retail list price via Walmart's online price with low cost home delivery.
I believe it is the best price/value you will find for a quality Buy-Ray player.
Best Regards,
Tmas

OK Player at good price
04/26/2010
The purchase of this player is my first experience with Blu-Ray technology.
First, let me say that I'm not impressed with the speed and ease of use of Blu-Ray discs compared with DVDs. The start-up time for Blu-Ray discs is really a drag -- almost like waiting for a computer to boot up. It's my understanding this is something inherent with Blu-Ray technology rather than this specific player.
This player seems like a pretty good value with the price being quite a bit cheaper than at other Internet sites. However, I'm not sure what the 'FD' is in the BDP-120FD model number where as the other sites just advertise a BDP-120 model number. No difference as far as I can tell.
This player hooked up pretty easily to my older HD TV which only accepts 1080i component input. Unfortunately, this doesn't give me DVD up-sampling, but I can live with that.
Upgrading the firmware to the latest version downloaded from the Internet was a pretty easy process using the supplied USB flash drive.
Something I found disappointing with this player is the case is a shiny black plastic material that doesn't quite match my other Pioneer AV equipment (they are about 8 years old). The small display is a bit ugly too. My old Pioneer DVD player and CD players looked much better and buttons had a much nicer feel to them. Looks like Pioneer has taken a step backwards in the last few years which is unfortunate.
Overall, this player is fairly cheap and does what it's supposed to do. Despite being a Pioneer branded player, it's not the best looking or most solid feeling player. If you can live with that it seems you'll get your money's worth from it.

Defective Product
02/23/2010
My first review ever for any product bought online. I have bought several, ask Amazon. But this product was defective, didnt work on either of my TV on a HDMI cable. Worked fine with the regular AV cables. Had to return it, lost the shipping. Paid twice and bought a Samsung (latest model) with wifi, BD live, internet streaming etc.

An awesome find.
01/04/2010
I found this deal just before Christmas and was thrilled. My husband wanted one but wasn't expecting it. I came through with flying colors. He said it was just the one he wanted and the brand was a great one. I'm not the most electronic saavy. This blue-ray system was worth the purchase and the delivery was efficient. Thank YOu!

Good entry level Blu-ray
04/14/2010
Slowwww, at loading up movies, uses a memory stick to allow online features-'kinda cheesy. Product works well otherwise, cannot beat the price or the secure feeling of purchasing a very good brand of equipment. Excellent value and a great way to enjoy a budding next-gen movie library... I'm glad I came across this!

Great value, good quality
04/04/2010
I love my new Pioneer Blu-ray player. The picture quality is amazing, and the price unbeatable. Only drawbacks are: 1) the remote is pretty complex, 2) loading disks is slow, and 3) the player does not remember where the movie was stopped, so you need to make sure to remember the last scene before going to bed :-)

Great deal
05/04/2010
We had previously purchased a much more expensive player and it broke beyond reasonable repair just after the warranty ran out. We decided this time to go for a less expensive model and this more than met our expectations. It works more easily than the expensive model and the picture quality is still good.
