I have a big cat 18 pounds and his hair is thin and fime and is everywhere, on the clothes, furniture, floor it makes hard to keep clean the house, so I decided to trim his hair. First, I bougth the cheaper trimmer por 17 $us, but did not have the combs to trim the length of the hair I wanted. It was a bad experience I left some bold spots on my cat's coat and I was even afraid to cut his skin. So went to walmart to change for this other with 4 guide combs for different lengths and i use the second and it was too much better my cat looks handsome with an even hair cut and good bye to the hair everywhere.

Bought this, used this, returned this. These clippers would not go through my miniature schnauzer's coat at all. They constantly jammed with even a small amount of hair. When they didn't jam, hardly any hair got removed. Previously I have used other models of Wahl clippers in the person hair section and they worked much better than these on my dogs, and even had more guards.
Go pay 5 bucks more for the ones that say for people, save yourself the disappointment.

I have cut my dog's hair for 4 years with a Conair clipper used for humans. In 4 years I had to replace it twice. This was one of thoses times where I needed to replace it. I ordered online did not see my Conair clipper so I ordered Walh for dogs. GOING BACK TOMMORROW & returning it. It pulls on my dogs hair & it gets VERY HOT IN 5 minutes. NEVER AGAIN will I use a Walh product. Going to get my Conair for humans . Does the job GREAT & my dog does not have the pulling & it does not get hot in my hand. Conair for 16.00 or 17.00 dollars does a great job. I am so done with this company & their prduct.

i have been wanting one for a long time so i could clip my dog,i was amazed about how fast i received them and the dog treats,which are his favorite by the way.i am 70 years old and do not drive so the only way i can shop WAL_MART is online,thank GOD for the easy shipping.because on my limited income i wouldn't be able to . i will continue to shop with you on lineas you are my favorite place to shop.

One of my cats, Harry (see photo) is a Maine Coon. Not only is he one of the largest breeds, but he has a long (long) coat which is impermeable to water, since he's a northern breed. You name it, he's clogged every kind of vent; computer, TV sets, AC's, etc. I have to vacuum every other day to keep the Harry tumbleweeds out of everything. I originally looked into getting him a lion cut, because I live in a hot climate nearly year-round, and I thought this would be good for him. While I looked for groomers, which are hard to find for cats, they set some ridiculous conditions such as I had to bring him in at 7:00 a.m. and/or he would have to be sedated, adding on to the price of grooming him, which ranged from $60 to $85. No thanks! And so my quest for alternate solutions brought me to Walmart, and we are both so happy with the results! He had huge matted lumps on his back. $25 later and some cat nip, I was able to get all his knots out, and he seems really pleased. Now I don't have to worry about him overheating. My baby boy went from Hairy Harry to the lion king in a heartbeat. I highly recommend this product, it shaves hair like butta, but please educate yourself on how to groom the cat, such as going with the grain of the cat's hair, and going slow, as they have delicate skin, etc. Problem solved!

I bought this clipper thinking I would clip my little dog because he has so much anixety when getting clipped. He is only 10 lbs and thought this clipper would be good but after only 3 cuts, it would not cut any hair at all. Thinking the blades were dull, but doubted they were after such little use, I bought some new ones, installed them and they still would not clip. Seems as if the blades are out of line but what do you do but send it back for warrenty work for a fee of $15.00. No thanks as I only paid $25.00 for them! I guess you get what you pay for. So I would not recommmend at all and would suggest buying clippers that are made for animal such as Andis, which I did and have worked great and am very pleased. Alittle more expensive but again you get what you pay for.

I have a long haired cat and his hair is fairly thick. I got these clippers and they far exceeded my expectations! Low noise, low vibration and my cat did not mind them at all. They cut through the hair extremely well and easy. Made for a fast, easy, great job! Price is excellent for the job they do. Would highly recommend these clippers! I love them and I save a lot by no longer having to take him to a groomer.

I bought these for my yorkie schnauzer mix. I found it trimmed the head okay and the back but didn't seem to do anything on the legs. I ended up having to pull sections of hair up and "hack" through them. I used the correct size clips and kept oiling frequently. I didn't have any problems with over heating though.

I have a short-haired cat that is a lifelong, chronic shedder, to the point where petting him was torture for my nose, throat & eyes.
Fortunately, he's a pretty mellow guy, so he doesn't mind the process of being clipped too much. I think it's more the length of time spent being restrained that starts to bug him. I have found that the trick is to clip him in stages; if the job doesn't get finished in one day, so be it.
These clippers do work, and I shave him without the attachments (which frankly look pretty flimsy, made out of thin, cheap plastic) for a very close shave. Maybe b/c I'm still new at it, it does take me quite a long time to clip him, but my cat also has a very thick, downy kind of undercoat which quickly clogs the clipper's teeth, requiring frequent cleaning with the dinky little brush that is included, but a can of air for dusting does a better job. The clippers do not just zip through his fur in one pass, but he's very flabby & it's possible I'm not holding them just right. It's kind of like trying to shave a waterbed.
The box does seem to imply that these clippers are more suited for trims on thin-coated dogs such as Malteses or poodles than for serious shaving. So in that regard, they perform better than advertised, and you can't beat the price.

We have a Chihuahua German Shepard mix. At first I was worried, it seemed to just jam and pull out clumps. But when I realized I had to hold it right, and go with the grain, it really worked well. Not loud, does get rather warm after a few minutes.

not for thick hair

Thoroughly unimpressed with this product. It might be ok for small or thin haired dogs but I bought it yesterday to use on my German Shepherd-Husky mix... I realize he has super thick fur and undercoat but it took me 4 hours and he is only HALF shaved and the blades are so dull it took me 10 minutes to do the last 2 inch square section!!! I bathed him the day before so there isn't a lot of dirt buried down in his fur to dull the blades and I cleaned/oiled it every couple of swipes but it literally just doesn't cut it!

Very similar to a human hair clipper (attachments, all). We have used it only once, and it didn't seem to cut too well. Probably my Lhasa Apso's hair was too thick? We will still use it until we learn any trick that may help us with the perfect funtion of the tool.
