HUGE!, 10/28/2009

Wow! This tent is MUCH bigger than I expected. I set it up myself, as a short woman, in less than an hour with help from my three year old and it is awesome! It was a surprise for my husband for his birthday and he couldn't believe how big it was either. We haven't used it in the rain and only set it up to say "Happy Birthday" but it seems like it is going to be terrific! Definitely worth the money spent! GREAT FOR THE PRICE!!!

Outstanding Tent, 10/17/2009

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

We have now used our tent on several camping trips and are more impressed with it everytime we use it. It is so spacious and versatile. It assembles quickly and easily. It is just so nice to be able to stand up and function inside this tent. We took an 8 day trip to Yellowstone and were very impressed in how spacious it was, even with storing many of our rubbermaid tubs inside out tent while we were out and away from the camp for the day. On those rainy days, the tent was completely dry on the inside. We even decided to change campsites in the middle of our trip. Taking down the tent and reassemblng at a new campsite was quick and easy. This is by far our most favoite Coleman tent we have owned to date.

Awesome Tent!, 10/12/2009
By BabyButterfly, Tucson, AZ
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

This tent is worth every penny spent on it. It recently survived two camping trips 2 weeks apart, both with crazy wind and lots of rain. The tent held up beautifully and we stayed dry and warm. This tent is really well made and very roomy (which is especially great for families).

My husband who is 6'3'' loves the fact that he can actually stand up in it!! We were able to put a queen size blow-up mattress and a pack-n-play crib in it with plenty of room for walking around and other luggage. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a durable, spacious tent for a great price!

Awesome Tent, 10/11/2009
By KatyTexasCamper, Katy, Texas
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

I have been in may tents and this is a top quaility and easy (2 person) to set tent. It rained on me and the rain fly was superb. No leaks after about 1 inch of steady rain. This tent has a sturdy "tarp-like" bottom, but I still used a 10x20 tarp as a foot print. It will hold 2 double high queen air mattresses and still have room enough for gear and walking. I'm 6' tall and had plenty of room to walk end to end and never hit the ceiling. This tent is great, so buy one and enjoy the outdoors in style. My family nick-named the tent "Our Mansion"...it is big!

I can't believe we ever camped without it!, 10/05/2009
By InternetSavvyShopper, California

My husband was mad initially because I bought this tent and he didn’t think we needed it. He thought it was a better idea to try to get an inflatable air mattress, a portable crib, and all of our stuff in an 8’x8’ dome tent. He’s grateful now. Not only did we have plenty of room, but my husband is 6’3” and he had no trouble walking around in this tent. We went camping with our family and I think everyone else will be buying the same tent for the next camping season. I think it is well worth the money.

Awesome tent for a great price!, 10/02/2009
By djjcbaker, Surprise, Az
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

We bought this tent for our family of 4 and it was plenty big enough. We fit a queen size air mattress, small toddler air mattress and a portable crib inside with a lot of room left over. It was a breeze to set up. (10 minutes with my husband and myself) We set it up and rained guarded it the week before and we didn't have any leaks. The only downfall to this tent is the hinged door. It's a great idea but it just doesn't work out very well. You're not supposed to zip the door if you have the plastic pole in it but we didn't feel that the velcro was enough to keep the bugs out. We tried to zip it to see if it would work but it just didn't. We just left the pole out and didn't have the door hinged and it was perfectly fine. We definitely got more than we bargained for with this tent. For $150 and 97 cent shipping, you can't go wrong with this tent!!!

Review 7 for Coleman Max 13' x 9' Cabin

Great tent, 09/28/2009
By XXVII, Clevelnd OH
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

I needed a starter family tent for an upcoming camping trip, after looking & reading reviews we decided on this tent. I decided to give it a test run in the backyard, I was able to set-up the tent by myself in about 20 minutes, the set-up & instructions were easy. The tent has plenty of room for our family (2 adult 2 kids). I was able two put two queen size air mattresses inside with room to spare. The 2nd day we had a good rain storm and the tent did not leak at all. The only item I was disappointed with was the divider wall which the tabs broke off, but I really wasn't going to use the wall anyway.

Hole in the floor, 09/22/2009
By Dangie
Overall Rating: 2 out of 5 2 out of 5

Well, my opinion of this tent is marred by the fact that as I unpacked and unrolled it, I noticed immediately that there was a small whole the size of a pea in the floor of the tent. Needless to say, I returned it and was discouraged with Coleman.

I next tried a more expensive tent - a Eureka! Got that delivered, and the rain fly had a rip in it! Plus the floor of this tent was made out of the same material as the sides (not the heavier tarp-type material). Discouraging indeed. I've since purchase another Coleman as the more expensive ones don't seem to promise any better quality. I am waiting for the rain to stop to set it up....

Great for families & Tall people!, 09/17/2009
By Liz, CT
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

We bought this tent after a friend had got it. We just had a baby this past winter and in our old tent it was crib, and bed. No room for anything. Once saw this tent, it was a must. We got it and we have room for our growing family. Our 6 yr old has her own bed for once camping, the crib fits, and 2 more twin matresses for us. We even had room for our luggage with room to walk around. It was great to because my husband is 6'4" and he was able to stand in every part of the tent.

Fantastic, 09/15/2009
By LHodges, Mendon, IL
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

We bought this to replace our family tent that finally wore out.
We used this 2 weekends in a row. Each time able to set up in less than 20 minutes, once by headlights.
Very spacious, very well constructed and the door is a genius idea. The only 2 downsides we found was the step out the door (ok for adults, was a little difficult for the 8 yr old in the middle of the night) and one of the zippers around the slide-thru ripped(our dog thought it was his doggy door and pushed his way thru).
We were forunate enough not to have rain either weekend we used it so I can't comment on leaks but the rainfly is very generous and still allows for air flow.
We did get a few other campers stop and comment on our tent. They were in awe of the door and the interior space.
Overall, we are very satisfied with the tent and cannot wait to use it next summer.

Coleman tent, 09/13/2009
By activemom2
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

This tent was very easy to put up! Two adults put this up in 15 minutes. Plenty of head room for tall adults. We put four cots in the tent and had plenty of room to store extras. I would buy extra heavy duty stakes but the ones provided were fine for good weather. The room divider wasnt' really good but also not needed. The tent fits a family of four perfect. It would be a little crowed with more than five unless you only used sleeping bags. Overall this tent is a perfect fit four our family of four!

Coleman Tent, 09/11/2009
By gingermart, Omaha, NE
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Great tent and great price for the size. There was plenty of room and all corners were tall enough for my husband (6'1") to walk around without huntching over. There was plenty of room for my husband, my self and our two young children one of which was in a play & pack. It provied plenty of room to sleep in and have space to walk around everyones sleeping area. It did not rain while we were camping so I dont know about any leaks as of yet. We camped for a week and it was wonderful to go sit in to get out of the sun and all the windows provided great ventilation. We highly recomend this as a tent for a small family like ours.

Review 15 for Coleman Max 13' x 9' Cabin

This tent is excellent!, 09/10/2009
By SuperCenterFiend, Germany
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

My wife, son and I were using a 4-man tent when we camped last year in Italy (also a Coleman) and were quite comfortable with it prior to purchasing "THE MAX". :-) The turning point for us was the need/desire to stand completely upright while dressing and the desire for more space for our clothes. Now we have more than enough room vertically and from wall to wall. After reading some of the reviews I saw that others were having issues with the door zipper and didn't even think to just take out the curved pole. I will try that next time. This tent provides great protection from the rain and wind but if you like to camp in chilly weather, bring a few more blankets because Jack Frost does invite himself in. I've set the tent up by myself with absolutely no problems so with help it goes up in less than ten minutes. There are plenty of windows in the tent with no problems with the zippers. We will. however be purchasing an extra tarp (foot) for protection of the bottom of the tent becasue we want this one to last for a very long time! Great bang for the buck!

Plenty of room, 09/09/2009
By GinGirl, Ohio
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

I was able to set this tent up with my 11 year old in 20 minutes. It is a very simple set up and has lot's of room. I was a little dissapointed by the room divider. I would have liked it to be a little more closed. It falls open on the sides quite a bit. We had a six hour ran storm with heavey rain and wind and all we got was a small puddle of water about the size of a golf ball by one of the windows. I did spray the tent with a water replent two days before the storm. I was impressed at the way it held up. This is a good tent for the summer.

Review 17 for Coleman Max 13' x 9' Cabin

Exceptional Tent!, 09/09/2009
By rnagalloway, Fort Worth, TX
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

My wife, two boys, and I had outgrown our previous dome tent and were looking for a good cabin tent to replace it. Being in Texas, we wanted to go the cabin route because it would be cooler and allow for more air flow. After much research I decided on this tent. And it is AMAZING. Here are the pros/cons I found from our first trip with it, plus some recommendations.

Pros:
1. First and foremost, this tent is SUPER easy to set up. In my trial run of setting it up for the first time at my house, it took my wife and I about 10 minutes to put in all the poles and raise it up in our garage. From that point on it's just how fast are you at staking it down.
2. Very roomy and plenty of height to walk around. I am 5'11'' and I had plenty of room to walk around the tent without hitting my head on anything. We had two queen air mattresses and had plenty of storage/walking room.
3. Lots of circulation with the many windows it has. At night we were very comfortable while sleeping, even got chilly at times. In the searing Texas heat you can't exactly take nap in there during the day, but you can at least walk into it and do something for a few minutes without getting drenched in sweat upon entry.
4. The hinged door makes getting in and out so quick and easy.
5. It rained on us the entire first night we were there and we stayed completely dry. The floor seams being 6 inches from the ground helps tremendously with this.
6. When you are ready to pack up and leave, this tent actually fits back in the bag! It has a little expansion zipper at the bottom of the bag that allows you more room.

Cons:
1. There are only 6 guy lines on the tent and they are on the bottom portion (see more details in Recommendations).
2. I know the stakes they provide with tents these days are usually puny, but these are incredibly puny. About a third the thickness of the provided stakes with our last tent. I bought plenty of new stakes to keep this puppy staked down.

Recommendations:

1. The rain fly has 8 guy lines and you really need to have it on to achieve the best stability. When we were setting up camp, a strong wind was blowing through right before the storm hit. When we got the tent raised up and staked down prior to getting the rain fly on, it was having trouble staying up from the wind. When we finally got the rain fly on and and all the guy lines staked down, it was sturdy as a rock.
2. I applied a silicone sealant to all the seams inside and on both sides of the rain fly during my trial setup. Totally worth it as we did not get a drop inside the tent during that storm.
3. Concerning the hinged door, there isn't as much velcro on the bottom part of the door, so it's best to zip it up a little on the bottom if you're going to be away for awhile...just to keep the bugs out.
4. If you use air mattresses to sleep on, make sure you have a way of getting an air pump inside the tent to blow them up. The door isn't big enough to get a blown up mattress through. I bought a rechargeable pump for this task before our trip.

Rain, Rain and more Rain, 09/08/2009
By CampNwithTwins, Spokane WA
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

Well after using this tent with my wife and twins (which both had pack n plays) we were super glad to have purchased this tent. For $150 bucks it was well worth it. TONS of room for all of us, bags, food, air matresses and 2 pack n plays. If you want plenty of room and NOT have to duck down the whole time you are in a tent, this is the one. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that it leaked a little (Very little) in the spots where the spikes were pinning the tent down on the outside, but to be fair it was pouring down rain. Also make sure you get some nicer spikes and a small hammer, it will make life much better for you.

Greatest Tent I have ever purchased, 09/08/2009
By an anonymous customer, Broadalbin, NY
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

This tent is everything you could ask for. First weekend we used it it was the only tent that stayed dry on the inside, everyone else at the site had to sleep in ours the rest of the weekend. The fact that the floor seam comes 6 inches up the tent rather than the floor this keeps most water out. Plenty of room on the inside, i'm 6' tall and am able to walk around entire inside of tent w/o hitting my head at all. Easy set up as well. I was able to set it up by myself in 15 minutes, and w/ 1 other person in less than 10. If you need a roomy tent, this is a MUST BUY!!

we just used this tent for the first time and I have nothing but good things to say about it. We got to our campground late, so we were putting it up in the dark and still it was easy. The room inside is fantastic and I am totally in love with the hinged door! Wondering why more tent makers do not come up with this... The family could all stand upright in it and my husband is 6'3"!! The hanging dividers with the pockets are awesome and very handy too...great for flashlights, cell phones, etc...wonderful product and would highly recommend it to anyone!
