This is a comprehensive encyclopedia of every major, minor, and incidental character in the Marvel universe up to 2009. It includes complete biographies of all of the major characters, and cross references with the minor characters. The character stories touch on all of the story lines, including some cross-overs.
The beautiful hardcover artwork forces you to stare and see how many characters you can name.
Santa brought this to my son for Christmas, and I spent days reading before I let him even look at it. This is a must have for old and new Marvel fans.

I bought this book for my roommate as a birthday gift. He turned 22 and as a huge marvel fan, I thought I'd get him the book.
The book itself was great- it has everything anyone would want to know about story-lines and characters.
And best of all I found the book just over half the price of the MSRP at wal-marts website!

We bought this book for our super-hero crazed 9-year-old boy. He loves it! He reads it for hours on end. It has an enormous amount of information. Definitely recommend it to others.

This book for the price, was a great way to encourage my sons' love of the comic-book heroes I loved growing up, and the new ones he is enjoying today! There may be some things that were incorrect... but as with any encyclopedia, there are usually multiple versions and revisions to be made... it is kind of sad that books are not the "prefferred" media of todays' generation, but this book really made my son's birthday a happy one!
