I use this while away from home. I attached this to the battery system (not the cigarette lighter plug) and use it to power my Alienware laptop (160 watts) for hours at a time. Seems louder than my 300 watt, but works well. Most truck stops sell for $40, so the walmart price is a much better deal.

I bought the Cobra 400/800 inverter to run a "dorm" size refrigerator in our camper. The refrigerator should need 720 watts to start and then run on 300. The Cobra signaled "overload" and would not run the refrigerator. I taking it back for a refund.

The inverter worked as hoped. We were able to operate our laptop and charge it in the car. The only problem we found was that the adapter plug was very sensitive to getting bumped. When bumped the power to the inverter would be lost. Don't know if the problem is the adapter plug or the recepticle in our car. We used it for hours at a time during our recent 2 week road trip without a problem.

I purchased this unit for running a crock pot rated at 240 watts. Ran this for 2 hours the fan quietly cycling off and on easily handling the load. Never even got a low battery alarm, packed things up and started truck right up.

i bought this cobra inverter at a truck stop my old inverter died I did not want to wait 1-2 weeks for it and I am glad I did get this when I did my whole house is electric the power went out that same night when I was putting in supper in the micro-wave power does go out quite often here best have a solar panel set up 55watts to keep the battery charged and check the water level often! if it goes below the plates possible the battery will not work well its murder when you have a care provider that is not on your side when power goes out I been with out power one year and it was out for 3 days my care provider did not care to check on me for those days

I work out of my car and purchased this product to power my laptop. This product in conjunction with the Auto Exec desk is a perfect combination. This unit has no problem powering my laptop using inside 12 volt plug, and so far runs very cool. It comes with jumper cables to hook directly to the battery if you are trying to power a heavier load. So far very satisfied.

Bought this for a recent 1000 mile road trip. Plugged in two laptops the entire time without any problems. I did replace the plug fuse to 10A since my Honda Accord plug was only rated for 150 watts. I was expecting the plug to get hot (like my 15 year old Cobra inverter), but this was only slightly warm to the touch. Very satisfied with the purchase, especially at this price. Shipping cost was also extremely reasonable.

This item was not available at any of my local Wal-Mart stores, so I bought it on line and opted for pick up at store. It was there in 2 days!!! I got it primarily for camping and it works great. I use a 40 ft drop cord to reach the campsite with no problem. Just like having electricity at home! Great item for the price!!!!!

Prices for converters, even at Walmart, are all over the board - up to 60 dollars for a 400 watt.
This unit is a great value, and works for me just fine. Quiet - ran my laptop without a problem. Good solution for those with a Travel Trailer to run your TV or Laptop.
