Take your passion for basketball wherever you go with the Spalding 66349 50" Polycarbonite Portable Basketball System. Designed so you can play the sport anywhere, the portable basketball system's 50-inch polycarbonate backboard and steel board frame make it feel as though you're playing on a real basketball court. The 20-degree pole angle, and the Exacta Height Lift System, allows for better shooting. The two attached wheels make it easy to move the basketball hoop to wherever you want to play. With this portable basketball system, you will be able to unleash your passion for the game no matter where you are.
It arrived sooner than originally expected. All the pieces and parts were there. The instructions were easy to understand. only a couple of small issues. The weld on the back board was not well done, looked as if my 6 year old son did it. It was to big and very sloppy. When it was time to install the brackets they didn't fit straight due to the large welds. I did manage to get the bolt on and force the nut to tighten. The other issue was with the pre-drilled holes for the back board covers. They were to small for the bolts provided. I'll probably buy smaller screws for it. Plays great and it looks good.

Even an Engineer Can Put it Together

My 5-year old "helped" me. After reading some of the reviews, I'd planned 4 or 5 hours for this job. It took me 2 hours to unpack, sort and assemble this. Is it advantageous to be an engineer? Most people tease them for their inability for actually assembling anything. Maybe I just got lucky.

Assembly was a NIGHTMARE!

Took 6 hours to put together. If a product comes with a DVD to tell you how to assemble it, it means the instructions are terrible. Not too high quality, but you get what you pay for. Even though it wasn't exactly inexpensive, it was cheaply made and a little bit flimsy. Pay a little more and get a better quality hoop if you want it for the long haul.

I just bought this for my 14 year old son. He has been driving me crazy for a new Basketball net and I searched a lot of places and this was the best priced one I found for my budget. It took a few hours to put together but once we were done it is an AWESOME system. I have kids playing all the time with it. Easy adjusting for heights and very strong and sturdy. We love it and recommend this to all. Thank you

Review 6 for Spalding 66349 50" Polycarbonite Portable Basketball System
I ordered this goal and basketball set online. I had it shipped to the store where it was assembled for me for free. I love the fact that the goal is easy secured with many different height adjustments. Im just in love with the overall performance of the goal and how sturdy it is while shooting. Highly reccommended!!

Nice hoop for the money. The bicycle guy at the local store assembled it for me. That's a real bonus! It saved me at least 3 hours! Be sure to check with your local store before ordering.

The assembly DVD was a nice touch and watching it in advance gives a good idea about the assembly process. I was able to put it together myself in about 3 hours not including the full hour I spent beating the wholesale everloving stew out of two of the main pipe pieces trying to get them together. I was never able to get them fully assembled according to the directions but it did not impact the overall completed project.
The parts are well designed and fit and finish were good. The base with water seems a little light or unstable and I intend on switching to sand. The backboard has a surprising vibrating poing when using the glass. I can certainly say that anything less than this level of quality would not be worth buying.

Best price around. Putting this together was not hard but did take a long time. The pieces should be packed according to the pages or numbered better. Great product! Bought for grandsons.

Excellent Hoop!

It took me a long time to find a hoop that had the ball return base which I had on an older hoop years ago. This one only took a few hours to put together and is good and sturdy. The instructions were fairly clear but you'll hit a few spots where it may take a minute to figure out. I had to use the diagram of nuts and bolts a lot to measure which bolts were which on several occasions (the diagram is to scale). The mechanism to raise and lower the hoop is a handle that slides up and down instead of a crank so that took some getting used. Overall this is a great hoop and me and the kids are absolutely loving it!

Putting it together was time consuming, but well worth it! A great product for the price. I guess the only drawback is the fact that now all of the neighborhood kids play at my house. Most of them even have their own goal.

Very satisfied with this purchase. It took my husband about about 2.5 hours to assemble it. It would've be faster with a helper but he was able to do it by himself. Overall, this product is very sturdy and fun. Great for all ages.

Hoop Only Up Two Days but We are Happy!

I read all of the previously posted reviews before purchasing so I knew what I was up against. I picked up the very large box from a local Walmart after ordering it with free shipping to the store. The staff was great and rolled it right to my car and loaded it into the back of my Suburban. I laid out all of the hardware, sorted the components and made sure to look INSIDE components to find other hidden hardware---as I read on previous posts. There were a few times I became nervous and thought I was missing hardware but always found rolled up somewhere...... It was time consuming to put together but with the right tools, all worked out. I did not follow the warnings about having two adults set up. I'm a 45 year old woman....... Did it all by myself. Probably took 4 to 5 hours in total. My son and I were playing one on one as soon as it was set up. So far---very happy.

This is a really solid and sturdy unit. It took my son & I about 2 1/2 hours to get it together. It definitely needs weight in the base, it is rather unstable without it. Adjusting the tension on the adjusting arm takes a few tries - Luckily my son is 6'+...

We love our new Basketball System. The only thing I didn't like was putting it together. It took about 5-6 hours. We also opted to put sand in our base to hold it instead of water and that took much longer. There really should be a better way to fill the base for those who want to put sand in it. The hole is incredibly small for that.

The back board and pole appear to be very good quality. Assembly not difficult just time consuming. Be careful to read all directions as you put together because alignment is critical. It does take two people and saw horses are better than just using the box.
