Horrendous Buzzing Well Known Problem,

I was happy for about the first 2-3 minutes until the unit heated up. Then began this annoying buzzing sound. If you lean the unit back and forth it makes the sound nearly disappear or get worse. There's something with the transformer in these units that gives you a 50/50 shot of getting one with or without the buzz. Many of you will remember this type of a buzz from the older console set days with the picture tubes that sound like they're about to go out. It completely distracts one from the quality of the picture and sound. The speakers have only mid-vocal range. They have no highs or lows. The picture quality is decent, however analog cable is miserable, so you need to go high definition. This buzzing sound is enough to drive someone insane. I'm going to trade this in, pay another $100 and get the Philips 42". Hopefully it does better. The buzzing issue has been reported many times throughout the net, so don't say someone didn't warn you. Only other pros I would give this unit would be the size of the remote, but the menu navigation is odd. I'd stay away from this unit.

I purchased a 42 inch Vizio TV 1&1/2 years ago at Wal-Mart. The sound and picture were good, but the picture just went out. Without the extended warrenty, Vizio will do nothing to fix it. I was given a phone number for HD repair. (For the technician to come look at it, the price starts at $85, not including parts or labor.) The TV wasn't even used several days of the week. Definetly not worth the money!!!

this tv is fabulous!!! i've had it for about 3 years now and its every bit as great now as it was when we first purchased. the picture quality is fantastic, awesome for video games and movies. i love to watch animal or nature shows on it (and football!) because the picture is so crisp and you can see every detail. worthwhile purchase!!!!

This LCD flat screen was my first, I was looking for something that meets the eye from a far away distance and this TV is the best of its kinds. Its looks great up close too! 1080p with a HDMI plug, I have direct TV and with their HD programing I would recommend this TV why spend thousands when you can spend the right price for good quality and even better is american made!! it has lower my consumption a lot, very ECO friendly!! I proud to say, I am very impressed..

I bought this to use primarily as a computer monitor so I wasn't really worried about it being 60hz, but I do have HD cable running to it as well. The picture is quite good, but you can see a little bit of jerkiness in fast motion situations. I know this is because it is 60hz, and other than that this is a great TV. If you are worried about jerkiness, get a 120hz at least, but for the money this is a great TV.

Working in the Broadcast Field for many years I've seen many good and not so good tv's. I also Know from experience that there is no 100% fallsafe tv purchases. I wish there were. every brand name if you look long evough on any site will show good, not so good and bad. When someone rights a good review, i like to read why they though it was good, also if it was so good why. I like to cover all bases before i make my purchase. I realize that sometimes in transporting that tv set it can get dropped be exposed to moisture etc. So i do a background check on the company what kind of costumer support they have and how it rates and who to talk to. Also i purchase the extended warranty, doesn't matter what tv. Could have a cold solder joint maybe works for several months then dies. I'm covered. The reason i bought the tv is because of what it can do, and i checked it out to make sure it does do what its says. This TV meet the spec's it delivers fine color and has differnt picture modes. The threshold for default settings for contrast, sharpness,brightness,color and tint delivers incredible range. Its also has SRS sound. Not all TV's have that and the people that complain about sound maybe need to know a little bit more about product source such as analog vs digital vs HD as to how to better get the best of what they have. So for the equipment i have that works extremely well with my 42" Vizio, i have the extended warranty and i'm pleased to say it works well for me. I recommend checking on line sites for reviews like CNET if you want spec's TOMS Hardware. I hope and pray that Nobody would have to suffer with a T ...TV that they don't want. I hope you all have many hours of pleasureable TV viewing.

This is the second high def tv I have purchased in the past year. My first TV was a Sony Bravia and needless to say I loved it and couldnt imagine a better TV for the price. A week and a half after getting the Sony, my apartment was broken into and the TV was jacked! I was so mad, but I needed a new TV. I knew that I couldnt afford another Sony so I read a bunch of reviews on Vizio TV's and I was pleased at what I saw. I purchased the Vizio and as soon as I turned it on I was impressed, the picture (to my amazement) was better than the Sony, great colors and even with the 60HZ refresh rate. I play Playstation 3 and watch blue rays on this TV everyday and I have not had a single problem except my friends always wanting to come over to play on it. I would suggest going with a Vizio as the TV is perfect and the price is even better!

tv works great and did everything and more that i wanted. i would recemend not having this product shipped to your home if you live in questionable neighborhood. it will be left on your doorstep by fedex if no-one is their to receve it. i recemend site to store much safer and you can check tv for damage before leaving store

Problems with TV,

Loved this TV. Bought this HD TV because of the price. After much research, reviews on this brand were very good and friend owned one. If buying be sure and buy the 2 year replacement plan. The TV has wonderful resolution, sound and picture quality, only problem is 7 months after purchase it went dead. Another thing the store replacement on TV's is 90 days, Vizio warrantee is only good with the receipt which I have lost in moving from one home to another. To the stores personnel's credit they did locate me a copy of the original receipt which is hopefully enabling me to get warrantee support from VIZIO.
