three years ago i started fishing with a baitcaster that my friend didnt want it was a daiwa mega force twitch bar edition. i used it for about a month before i bought this reel and iv used this reel ever since awesome reel great price long lasting, very smooth casting, smooth retrieve, and doesn't look bad either

I own one Solene reel. It is a decent reel for someone that does not fish alot, but wants a dependable reel. The thumb bar seems a little flimsey like it would break off if you pushed it really hard. It casts well, but lacks the smoothness of a reel a little more expensive. If you fish alot i would recomend the Abu Garcia revo reels.

very good starter reel, i recommend using a braided line and brake set at ten to start ( mono line back lashes to easy and can be really fustrating trying to figure out how to clear it) i use mine for bass fishing in deep cover with a 20# test power pro braided line. you should definitly take it to a shop to get it spooled if you have never done it before and have them put a fillament base on it before your braided line. no problems with mine as of yet and im hard on reels, its a good price to boot

My wife bought this for my birthday 2 years ago.....never had any problems.... i have several 100$ plus reels, this one performs just as well as them.... for the money cant go wrong.

I bought this reel last year but i didnt use it till this year ... very nice reel casts well and has a good price. I use mostly Quantum fishing gear and i would say this reel is as good and some of their reels. Great reel for the price
