Good Buy!,
07/12/2009
Very Pleased. I view this TV from about 8 feet and the picture quality is excellent. Glad the 40 inch was offered, big TV feel but will not take over your room. Sound is not spectacular, but is what I expected straight from the TV. My Surround System certainly put on the finishing touch. For my needs, for the Quality, and for the price... there was nothing else even close!

Wonderful TV,
07/11/2009
Samsung delivers again with a stunning product that I would recommend to anyone. The picture quality is fantastic, especially playing movies off of my computer. When I purchased it, I knew the TV was the lowest in the line of Samsung's 5-series, so I was not disappointed that there were no side connectors. The software menu system is logical and useful. There are tons of settings for those who want them. One thing I recommend is deactivating the default sharpness and edge enhancement algorithms. These cause text to appear with little fuzzy halos in an attempt to beef up the appearance of the video source. With a quality source, you don't need to ramp the sharpness in the TV.

My first and only review,
10/27/2009
I never add much to discussions like this, but I always read them before making a purchase. In this case, the reviews were correct. This is an awesome HDTV with a wonderful picture, and I can't believe I waited so long to take the plunge. I bought this TV in August, and for two weeks I was in the "Wow!" stage. Every sporting event, every nature show, every live broadcast was such an experience for me. Football actually looked almost 3-D on the set. Animal Planet shows are unbelievably vivid and beautiful. This is the first Samsung I have owned after a lifetime of Sony TV's, but I just couldn't be happier with the picture and the performance. Oh....and LOVE the way the screen swivels. You can't always watch TV from the recliner....sometimes you just have to be on that couch! I paid right around $800 for this set, and it was worth every penny. To motivate me enough to write a review means this is an outstanding product.

Great buy at a great value,
09/24/2009
I bought this tv based on alot of research and reading customer reviews. It's been a month since I received the tv and have been happy with it so far. Very good size, image quality, and audio for the price. One slight issue I had was the partial blurring when viewing fast motions. (i.e video games/sports programs) This could either be because this is a 60hz tv or that i'm currently using composite cables on an "hd" cable box. This is purely a personal gripe, the blurring is minimal and should only be a consideration if you're very picky about image quality. Besides, that's the ONLY thing I can think of that could be seen as a negative, everything else is great. I appreciate the amount of ports included on the back (3 hdmi ports, usb for connecting your computer, audio composite ports and basic composites for connecting boxes and dvd players.) The swivel base is also a very nice addition and very easy to use. There's a perfect balance between resistance and ease when turning the tv on the swivel base. Audio is decent, and it can be enhanced by the push of a button on the remote. Obviously if you want the audio enhanced it's best to use a personal surround sound system, and the tv has various jacks to allow simple connectivity of speakers.
