This is cool,but a bit hard to transform. My 6year old couldnt & my 10 year old had a hard time with it. But it looks cool when it finally gets transformed!!!!

I went against my better judgement after reading the reviews when buying this for my 6 yr. old who is crazy about Optimus Prime. This toy is IMPOSSIBLE for a kid to transform. My husband who is a mechanic took A LONG time to do it. Maybe cool for an adult who is a collector. A cheaper Optimus that doesn't transform would've been the better buy. My kid just plays w/it without transforming it...not getting my money's worth!

As indicated in previous product reviews, Optimus Prime was very difficult to transform. The instructions were only slightly helpful. After several frustrating hours, my wife and I finally got it transformed correctly. It is very easy once you've done it a few times. Our four year old can almost do it by himself now. He just loves it. It was his favorite gift from Santa. If you are not mechanically inclined (or have no patience), don't torture yourself. Otherwise, this is a great gift at a competitive price.

This product is super detailed. We bought this for Christmas for our 5 year old and were quite surprised at how complicated it is. My husband had to play with it a while to figure out the 26 steps I think it was to transform it. But now that he has it figured out he's been taking the time to show our son how to transform it back and forth and he's picking up on it pretty quick. Not a good toy to get a youngster if you don't want to take the time to do it with him. But young boys can be very quick to learn and intelligent when it comes to mechanical stuff, so they CAN use it and enjoy it, they just need an adult to be patient and help them learn how to use it. (It will take more than one sitting to help the child figure it out). It's our son's favorite toy.

My 6yr old son got this for christmas n he loved it, its awesome as a robot n as a truck.. took me 4 ever to transform. lol. but he still loves it. be advised a couple pieces comes off. Kids will love it just takes a awhile n paitence to transform. hopes this helps. God Bless All..

Certainly the best of the three ('07, '08, and '09). A bit difficult going into truck mode, easier coming out. Most detailed , brightest paint job. I believe the cheapest as well at $35.00. Now Devastator, he's another story...

This is a pretty cool looking product. Great sounds! However, I do not recommend your mother to transform it from the autobot to the truck. It does take quite alot of time and patience to transform. The box said it is for ages 5+ But, I recommend it for much older children. Or have dad assemble it.

I bought this for my 7y/o son. His 30 y/o sister and I tried for 2 hours following the not so helpful directions and still couldn't get it to transform into the truck!!!!What a piece of junk!!! Don't buy this if you enjoy your sanity. I returned it the same evening!!!!!

This transformer is in no means for any Five year old. I suggest purchasing for anyone over 30! The instructions are terrible. We are on day two trying to transform this figure back to original state, never did make it to truck transformation. return to the store. This transformer has been nothing but a nightmare. If you want to purchase for Christmas gift, I suggest you dont - unless you want to ruin their Christmas morning trying to transform this.
