Philips 47" 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, 47PFL5704D/F7

I spent a couple months researching tv's. I always want to get the biggest bang for my buck. I had settled on a different tv, but I wanted to go to a Walmart store and check out the picture in person before I made my final decision. The tv which I had picked was great, but then I saw this Philips next to it, and I was just blown away by the quality. I already have a higher end 52" Samsung, which cost $2,000. Both my Samsung and the tv which I went to view had very good pictures and features, but I would describe the picture as "softer" than the picture on this Philips. The Philips display is very vibrant. The details are very sharp, and the colors are very true. So I checked the specs on this Philips and it had everything I was looking for. 1080p, 120hz with the de-juggering feature, although Philips calls it something else, plenty of inputs, a USB port to do upgrades(very important-this is a feature many people overlook, but is very important), a great picture, and a nice price. Paid 1,048.00 in the store, with 12 mos 0% financing.
The Remote is very simple. Not a lot of extra clutter and obsure features which I'll never use. My only complaint is that the remote is not backlit. If they can do it on a $8 universal remote, why not on the remote for a $1000 tv? Also, the sound is decent, but you have to turn it way up until you get a good volume. I have a THX sound system, so it's not a facotr for me. Got it home. Very easy setup. Menus are simple and logical. Very happy with this tv:) If you're like me and want to get a quality tv at a decent price, check this one out. Make sure you check the model number. The other Philips, which has a 36 in it's model number instead of a 57, is not 120hz.

The picture and sound on this television are amazing. The price was outstanding for the quality that we received in this product.

We have had it for approximately 2 weeks and everyone that has seen it has been amazed by the quality of the picture.

It was simple to set up anyone can do it!

I would recommend this product to anyone. As a matter of fact one of our friends has already put an order in on line.

Overall I am pleased with this tv in the 3 weeks I've had it. The sound is good on shows, but extremely loud on the commercials so you'll have to turn the volume down when commercials are on and up when the show comes back on - even when "smart sound" is on. I don't know the technical term, but on shows with action (football, etc.) the picture is "choppy" - the picture was better on the tv displayed in the store - you can change the display for movies, sports, etc., but that doesn't change much. I paid $150 less than store price by ordering online - you have to wait about 2 weeks to receive it, but it is worth the wait for the savings. I also considered purchasing the 40" Sony Bravia, and can't help but wonder if it might have been the better choice.

An excellent HDTV - great picture and really good sound quality, which is what we wanted. No noise levels going up and down with the commercials.
We have two Philips a 42" plasma and 47" LCD with no problems. Movies are a pleasure to watch on this TV

The picture is stunning. I am still shocked by how smooth the animation is. The viewing angle is almost perfect left to right, but I have noticed a little solarization if you are directly beneath it. It isn't an issue but sometime when laying on the floor I notice it, (my TV is on the wall). The sound seems on par for a TV, but for gods sake get surround sound with whatever TV you buy.

I can clear up any concern you may have for motion blur. THERE IS NOT ANY!

The BlueRay Movies are absolutely amazing. I really can not imagine it looking better, and smoother.

No dead pixels, no problems.

The Remote is a little light. I dont know if that means cheap but I almost never use the TV remote anyways. It does its job though...

I love this TV. The 120hz mixed with the 2ms response time make everything look so smooth it really catches your eye. I dont know if Im just accustomed to the studder but now that there isnt any it seems strange. Kinda reminds me of watching a high-end video game pegging the frames per second, except its Transformers! God I can't wait to see Star Trek in this thing!

For crying out loud, buy this TV! Even if you have to crack into the kids college fund they will thank you lol

I purchased this Philips for my mother after getting "burned" by buying an off brand from one of the shopping channels. Lesson learned, it only lasted two years and one day, no power!
I know Philips is a reputable brand, and has been around for years. I work at a hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, and guess what? All the upgraded rooms have Philips Plazma's, what does that tell you, it's a product that will last. Now, as for the picture, it is stunning, almost 3d quality. I compared it to a friends Sony and the Philips was better. The sound quality is the best I've heard on an LCD TV. You don't really need to add an external surround sound cause you are getting theatre quality sound from the TV alone. Now let me tell you the design of this TV is awesome and will make your room look very high tech and modern. It has that glossy black finish on it, and is very expensive looking.
Finally, the delivery experience was great, they call you to make an appointment, no surprises.
You will not find a better TV for the price anywhere.
My mother just loves hers, now I want to get one for me!

I will skip the superlatives.
This is simply the best picture I have ever witnessed on a TV.

This TV is awesome. It has everything you need: a few HDMI inputs, the old school coaxial cable input, and your standard yellow, white, and red cable inputs. The only thing that this TV does not offer is the input for a fiber optic audio cable. Other than that, I am very satisfied with my TV.

After much consideration i.e. price vs. feature, size vs. location, uses vs. needs, I decided on this Philips 47in HDTV. I purchased this HDTV just over a month ago at my local Wal-Mart expecting my previous research to pay off. Well, to date it has. I can not be more pleased with everything this television has to offer.
Setup was easy, although I did not use the setup assistance feature the TV offers. I'm using all three of the HDMI connections in the rear of the TV, as well as both component input connections. This too was an easy install. Mounting the TV on the wall above my fireplace was a breeze. I just followed the instructions. Please note it does take two people to lift and mount.
Picture quality is superb. No motion blurring in both std def or hi def (all resolutions).
Sound quality is also outstanding. With the adjustable EQ in the sound settings, properly adjusted, this TV has amazing sound.
I have 2 HD sources, two 480p game systems and a PC using DVI to HDMI connection. No issues at all. It switches between sources keeping the adjusted formats in picture and sound.
My family and I couldn't be happier. Now, let’s see what the future brings in the next few years of use. I did purchase the 3 yr warranty, just in case.
