Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W290 Black 12MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom, 3" Wide LCD, Image Stabilization, Face Detection

Ordered a cyber shot 10.1 megapixel and it was ok...zoom was to short and fuzzy. pics ok..Brought back and bought a dsc-w290 and what a difference. Zoom is awesome and clear..pics are great, has automatic background feature for different lighting which can be put on manual. The movie is crystal clear and very steady. We have a camcorder but believe it or not this shoots better. play back on computer/ tv is a big clear movie,entire screen,pics and movies can be tweaked to hd with an easy setting. I would say buy this camera and you will be very, very satisfied. I have had several cameras over the years and this one shows how far technology has come. feels nice, feels expensive and is very compact..Bought a 8 gig card with it and on the best setting,clearest, I can get around 2500 pics or 1hr 30 min. movie. rechargable ion battery that came with it lasts long and charges quick..Great job sony...

Bought it for our trip to San Fran...pictures came out awesome!!! Easy to use, long battery life, and takes really nice clear pics...and the large display is nice to have.

Bought this camera and noticed that the focus is constantly re-adjusting. This does not seam to be a problem while shooting photo's but it's a huge problem shooting video. Every video that I shot looks terrible. I spent about an hour on the phone with two different people at Sony and neither of them had a clue. They wanted me to send the camera in for service even though I told them that other W290 cameras in the store had the same behavior. I believe this camera has a design flaw.

After nearly 3 weeks of looking at every brand of digital camera on the market! I must have read every review for all the point and shoot cameras available. I decided on the Sony W290! Very, very glad I did. I was always a huge fan of Sony products, I own many from them. Sony cameras definately rated the best in reliability in two top consumer magazines! Having the lowest defeats and complaints over a 5 year period! The W290 is super easy to use, the camera does everything automatically! Just aim and shoot, great pictures every time! Love the Carl Zeiss lenses Sony uses. They are German and used by professional labs worldwide! This camera packs a lot in it for the size and price! The camera is very sturdy and well built! With an all metal front and back case! Super sharp and clear big 3.0" LCD display screen. The double anti-blur and optical stabilization features work fantastic! I purposly tried to make the camera screw-up and couldn't! Printed out 20 - 4x6 and 10 - 8x10 prints on my HP Photosmart printer thus far! The photos look like a profeesional took them, amazing. Especialy from such a compact and affordable point and shoot camera! Plus the Sony W290 is probably the best looking and most modern design point and shoot, in it's price range! So look no farther buy the Sony W290 now! You won't be disappointed!
