Bought this for my grandkids use in my home. It is sturdy, looks better than what I thought it might look like, and the kids love it. Also will use it for my grown kids when they visit as well. It is so much better than folding the futon in another room up and down, and up and down, and can keep it in couch position. This was a very smart purchase for us.

Excellent product for the the price...took me less than 2 hrs to assemble the piece..its looks daunting at first but once you keep everything aligned its a piece of cake..I loved it so much ..purchased another one...love the fact that the top bed is a twin and the bottom is a full bed...more room..Quite a sturdy bed

I'd say it was worth the money. My daughter is in college and needed a bed for her new apartment. It works perfect for her and a roommate in their one bedroom. They assembled it in 2 hours. It was missing a part but nothing major.

I bought the Dorel Twin-Over-Full Metal Black Bunk Bed with Optional Mattresses for $179...but no longer see it on the site. Put it together the same day I got it in the mail. It did come with a couple of dings...but nothing too bad to make me want to pack it back up and ship it back for another one. It's for my 5 year old daughter, her friends when she has slumber parties and maybe a future sister ;-), so it's going to get dings and dents anyways. It was easy to put together and the instructions are really really easy! Since my husband is deployed overseas right now (with the military). I had to put it together myself. I didn't have a problem putting it together myself...just took a lil longer than usual since I also had my daughter coming in and asking questions every 5 mins. I'm 5ft 2inches and 105lbs. If I can put it together by myself. Anyone can! It's really that easy! So worth the price. Very sturdy and nice quality!!! I love it...my daughter loves it. Everyone's happy. :-D

When I received the shipment in early February 2013 and started putting the bed frame together. I noticed that cross rail “O” was missing from the box, and the installation instructions were missing. I called Ameriwood the next business day and was on hold 45 minutes before I got to talk to a representative. They told me to look for the shipping latel information on my instruction sheet; I explained to them that I did not receive an instruction sheet. The representative told me to look on the bedframe and search for a sticker with the information and then give them a call back. I called back with the required information and had to wait another 45 minutes for a representative. I gave the representative the information and they emailed me that the missing part was on order.
A month later I still had not received the part so I call back to Ameriwood and wait another 45 minutes before I get to talk to someone. They representative reviewed the file and said that they did not have the part and was going to email the warehouse and see what was going on. I was promised a phone call back, but never received that phone call. I called the next week (you guessed it, another 45 minutes) and the representative said that they did not get any information back yet and sent another email and would call me in a couple days. Well same old story….called again a week later and was told that the part was being made in China and that they would send me the tracking order when shipped. Same old thing…two weeks later I call the representative is very apologetic and gives me her direct number to call back if I don’t get an email with a tracking number by the following day. I received the tracking number and now was waiting for the part.
April 8th, I receive the two of the same parts when I only required one. I did a quick inspection and everything looked fine. I went to install the part the following day and the piece labeled “O” was 2” too long for the bed. Go figure…craftsmanship at its finest. So now I have to get my hax saw and cut the piece 2” shorter and drill new holes for the screws to fit. After all that the bed is finally put together.
Although Ameriwood representatives were nice, it took a long time to get in contact with them and in the end were not good at following up and tracking issues. They blamed this on the mercy of their business partners in China. I think they should of just sent me a whole new bed frame if they knew it was going to take over 2 months to get me the right part (oh that’s right it wasn’t the right part because it was 2” too long). Though the bed looks decent and holds up well, I can guarantee you this will be my last product from Ameriwood.

I bought this for my three kids, 9, 4, 2,.. the 9 year old LOVES it.. he sleeps on the top.. but I can't keep the 4 and 2 year old from trying to sky dive off the top of the bunk to the bottom. My only complant about this bed is the fact it wiggles makes noises and feels unsteady. Overall the delivery was super fast..

I loved this bed I purchased one before from one of those furniture stores and to pay for deliver and someone to put it together, my friend and i put it together.I love the fact that it came with attachments to secure the bars on the bed. Very happy with this product my son loves his bed and the color!!

I bought this bed for my 11 and 5yo. Husband had no problems getting it put together and it looks great in their room. Seems to be holding up well (even with all the playing). One complaint is that it is a little wobbly when someones moving around on the top bunk. Very happy with this purchase.

Directions were clear - just took a little time. The bunk bed is sturdy and well built! I bought this for my 9-year old grandson and he loves it! Now I have room for the other grandkids and friends. I have a very small bedroom and his full bed took up the whole room now I still have a full bed but now a twin and ROOM to spare. You cannot go wrong with this bunk bed. And the price was GREAT. The bottom was a little dark so I strung lights under the top bed and gives a great look and the boys thinks it's so cool. SO glad I bought this bed!!!

This is a great bed for the price. My only issue would be the top bunk. We have quite a thick, pillowy twin mattress and the side bar to prevent a child from falling out only comes 2 inches above the mattress. So unless you have a very skinny, flat mattress, I wouldn't suggest this bed. We had to rig and tie the side bar with a bunch of twist ties to make sure my young daughter doesn't roll out! I suggest to Walmart and the bed manufacturer to make the top side bar taller OR make it so it's adjustable depending on the height of your mattress.
