The Mainstays Bunk Bed is a practical space saving solution for small bedrooms. With this honey pine finish solid wood bunk bed you can create warm and restful environment in your house. This Mainstays Bunk Bed has a sturdy frame with an integrated four step built-in ladder for safety. This bunk bed easily converts to twin over twin bunk bed and fit nicely in any room. The kids bunk bed can accommodate any standard twin sized coil spring mattress on it. The solid wood construction of this bed gives maximum support to any mattress. The guardrails with an open entry provides easy access to the top bunk. This can also be used as casual youth bunk bed.

Beautiful, sturdy product

Bought this for my three year old. It is quite beautiful, as well as sturdy. Hubby put it together in 1 1/2 hours. Again, just make sure you line up the ladder holes properly and use electric screwdriver, but be careful about stripping the screws. All in all, a great value and a great buy. When our baby gets older, hel'll get the bottom bunk and the three year old will be old enough to sleep on the top.

We are very pleased with these beds! Good thing we love them because we bought two sets. The rich color of the Expresso finish is beautiful. My partner, who is quite talented at putting things together, and one if our sons, also mechanically inclined (age 10) assembled the beds together in about two hours. They beds are sturdy and built with safety in mind. The best part is the design does not require bunkie boards!!!!!!
The two things that weren't positive were the missing piece and the assembly stickers. One set of the beds had a duplicate piece and therefore missing the correct leg. Both Walmart and the bed company offered quick solutions and we only had to wait a few days for the replacement. The assembly stickers where white, very sticky and like old fashioned price tags. It took longer to remove the stickers and residue than it took to assemble the beds it seemed like! Very annoying. Overall the purchase was a great one! We are thrilled....and so are four of our six boys!

I LOVE THESE BUNK BEDS. My only issues is putting them together. They have you put parts together, then need to take them a loose to put another part in and I haven't put my ladder on yet because there are no holds to connect them to the bed (as with the rail) so I'll have to manually put holes in the wood. But other than that, it wasn't hard to put together and it's very comfortable.

When I purchased the beds, I was expecting something that was made cheaply, a lot of times people say "you get what you pay for", in this case not, the price is cheap, but the beds are great, there durable, not wobbly, simple but stylish. I Love that the top bunk has rails on both sides, and the color is rich. Easy to assemble, just follow the directions. My kids, husband and I love them...

The bunk beds arrived on time and the box had no signs of damage. We were moving into our new house and these were a surprise for our son. About a week after recieving the beds we got around to putting it together to find three broken pieces inside. We are currently waiting a week for the pieces to arrive. Hopefully no more problems will come up.

My kids are very rough on things and so far we've had the bunk beds a few weeks and they are holding up amazingly . They are very sturdy. The only thing that was horrendous was every piece needed to be put together!!
The Allen wrench that comes with the wood is a joke ... It took over 2.5 hrs to get the beds set up! But after all that they have made the boys so happy an I'm very pleased with the price and the quality of the beds... And shipping was super fast!

Quality product for young children , knowing it will last a good number of years. Would recommend to any young family needing two twin beds. Got the product 3 days before it was actually scheduled to be delivered. Only thing is that it was left outside the apartment door unattended,if they had called before delivery someone would had been there. Still highly recommended...

Lovely beds, great value

We just downsized to a smaller home. We decided to put our 4 kids in the Master bedroom to give them the larger of the bedrooms and still enough space to play and store toys, etc.
We ordered two sets of the Expresso finish. The beds are marked from Vietnam. But I didn't see a mention of the type of wood. The pieces were easy for all 4 kids (11, 9, 6, 4) to help us unpack (and carry from the garage piece by piece to the bedroom for building).
The Expresso is a lovely color. Really pretty finish. A rich warm color. Looks like something you would find in a high end store. So very happy with that.
There is a slight order upon opening the box. However it's just the smell of the stain and we anticipate it will disappear quick enough.
They arrived 4 days earlier than my original order stated. So that was a huge perk for sure! Fast fast shipping!
There are a lot of pieces. And at first it seemed overwhelming. But they are all clearly labeled with letters of the alphabet. The bolts come packaged nicely and also well labeled.
It took my husband and I about 3 hours to put one bed together. The second bed went much much faster and we zipped right through. So all total about 5 hours to build 4 bunk beds.
Our tips after putting the first one together:
1. In Step 4, forgo tightening the bed bolts until you have the bed rails in. Otherwise you need to go back and loosen them to get the rails to fit.
2. Leave the last row of slats off of both beds (near where you will put the ladder on). If you don't, you have to unscrew them to put the bolts in for the ladder (which are underneath where the slats are seated).
My one complaint is I'm not really a fan of the way the slats are on this bed. They stand upright on their side, verses lying flat, which just seems to be an odd placement for them. We had some slats left from a guest bed we had from Ikea and used those as extra slats (though they lay flat) on one of the beds which has a thinner mattress.
We didn't use spring coil mattresses as is recommended. As we already had ikea mattresses from prior beds. We had them on platform beds. The mattresses are firm and do not fall through the slats.
We are pretty sure that we will be getting plywood to use for added support for the other three bunks. While they may not be needed. I just think I'll feel better if we do have them. And I think they may make the bed more comfortable for the kids.
Overall a really good deal. A really great purchase.
The kids are really happy with them. And we are happy they were something that's affordable. And also that they can be used as single beds when the kids are no longer sharing a bedroom.
