26" Mongoose Snare Men's Mountain Bike

After waiting for several reviews to be posted about the Snare, I decided it must be the bike I was looking for. I bought an XR-75 for my wife and it is a good bike, but I really wanted disk brakes and 24 speed for myself. Well this bike was well worth the wait. Easy shifts, super handling, perfect brakes and good ride. The rear spring is a little stiff but that is exactly what this bike needs for aggresive riding and 200 pounds plus. I am sold on the Snare and the ship to store service was great.

Made my first ride on it today. I had to adjust the trims on the shift levers a little during the ride because the derailers where dragging a little in the 3rd gear, other then that I had no problems. When I built it the only thing I did then was center the front disc calipers and adjust the calipers a small amount so the disc did not flex sideways when the brake was applied. This bike is impressive for $250! I know the mountain bike forums like to put down the department store bikes but this one is more competitive then they might think. Sure it does not have expensive carbon fiber but at least it is aluminum. It weighs 38lbs. I like the quality I see on it. Nice welds, good design, good components, bike looks good, and it actually rides really well too! I looked at many mountain bikes in stores and online for a couple of months and this one seemed to be the best for the price range I was looking for. After finally getting it I would say its value is way more then the $254 I paid for this one.

not too hard to assemble, my husband had it together in about 45 minutes. disc brakes work great, and overall quality is good...looks like a much more expensive bike. Got this for hubby but our 12 yr. old son loves it and uses it more than anyone, he says it "looks cool" and he's right!

This bike is a great middleweight product for those who ride but don't wanna drop $1,000s for a top of the line model. great set of parts and technology for the money - i ride hard - so i dont expect this bike to last me more that a couple seasons but the last goose i had made it almost three years and this one seems a lil better - so maybe it will last 4 - good buy for anyone who is not a pro but always remember you get what ya pay for as the fork is NOT downhill capable - love this bike 4 what i do which is roll very hard 15+ miles daily

Just purchased this bike one week ago for $199.00 at my local store (guess it was on clearance).
Took it on a mountain trail last weekend in north georgia and let me tell you I was very impressed with it's performance, the suspension was very good on jumps and landings, very easy to shift and manuever. very impressive for a 200 dollar walmart bike. Makes me wonder what a $3000.00 mountain bike can do.
Only complaint I have is the brakes are not that great but that is fixable with an upgrade.
regardless it is still a very good starter bike.

I am not a high end bike rider, but I do like the dual shock option. I also bought this bike specifically for the front and rear disc brakes as well as the shifters. I like the way that they click and I don't have to twist them. Great bike over all.

I just bought this bike at Walmart and its awesome! I love the ride, shifting gets a lil glitchy but that's because I haven't taken it to a bike shop to get it tuned yet. So far it rides very good. I love the anodized black spokes. You definitely need to change seats or get a gel pad as it gets uncomfortable after like 30 minutes. I think it's a good bargain considering it has dual disc brakes and quality components just like the higher end bikes. I would recommend this bike!

This bike is awesome!
The only thing that I had to do really was to adjust the brakes and deraileurs so that everything went smoothly. It seems to be aimed at a little taller of a person also being that I am about 5'7" tall and barely reach the ground where I have my seat! This is not a real big deal though because you shouldn't have to touch the ground while riding a lot.
I really like this bike and the suspension is outstanding. The rear shock is very stiff on this bike though which also implies it should be for a slightly larger rider being that I am only about 135-140 pounds. If you plan on buying this and wonder if it comes assembled, it doesn't...which I kind of like because it adds a little more fun into it I think. It comes mostly assembled though. The only things you have to put on are the front tire, handlebars and pedals. The only other thing (which i am not sure if this is on all of them or not) is that mine came with the handlebar stem turned backwards and if you are wondering how to change that just unscrew the 2 allen bolts on the stem and the one on the top of the headset and turn it and tighten all of them again. I definitely recommend this product!

looks good but the front fork is put backwards and it needs to be fixed so Im gonna have to take it to a bicycle place to have it fixed,besides that it looks ok.I will have to fix it and ride it for a while so I can tell more about it
