Switch to cruiser handlebars and this becomes a tr, 11/18/2009

This is a lovely looking bike. However if you are over 5'5" this is not the bike for you unless.....
I am 5'9" and even the mens bikes are too low for me. To raise the seat up is good and shocks are great in the seat. But the handlebars are way too low. So I bought the huge big cruiser handlebars, took the gear changer and brakes off the bars replaced them on the cruiser bars and WOW what a difference. THe only problem is the front brake is on the opposite side as lines are too short to go the original way around. BUt I can learn to switch sides and the COMFORT BIKE is NOW a comfort bike. Way cheaper than a custom bike from bike shop and I LOVE IT.

The bike is a great value! It is strong and very comfortable. This is the first bike I have purchased that I haven't rushed right out and bought a new seat. The blue color is beautiful. This is my first experience with handle gears. They are easy to use, and work smoothly. I am a happy buyer!

Review 3 for 26" Schwinn Link Women's Bike

This is a great bike, 08/20/2009

I bought this bike through the site to store and picked it up 2 weeks ago. I called the store when it arrived to ask to have it assembled and they had it done in about 3 hours with no charge. I have put about 50 miles on it and it has riden great, no need to buy a new seat because the seat is very comfortable. The suspension seat does make it sit higher, I am 5'3" and took alittle to get used to.
I will add that the price came down $10.00 from the time I ordered it, I noticed that when I went to write a review it so I e-mailed customer service and they refunded my money.
You can only find this bike at Wal-Mart and I am sure you will be happy with it too.

Review 4 for 26" Schwinn Link Women's Bike

Steel of a deal, 08/13/2009
By Buzz101, Vancouver,WA
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

I was going to buy the low step La Jolla Cruiser, To replace my old 3sp. Which I've had for a while and have added some personal do-da's to. That I would transfer to the new bike. When I got to the bike section the Link was the fist bike I seen and would be what I really wanted. But most likely more then my budget could afford, So I looked for the La Jolla and read the description tag. As well as looked at a few other bikes. Then I went back to the Schwinn Link and took a closer look. A Schwinn, Steel Cruiser styl frame with suspension forks, 21sp, and priced just with-in my budget. So I bought it and took it home. Transfered my personal do-da's from my old bike to the Schwinn Link. When I changed the seat, I pulled out the seat post and also a inner crip ring. I slid the post back in with out the crip ring and the post went a few inches futher in. I attached a wide spring loaded "Micargi" seat. As well as a few other minor adjustments. I took it out for test spend. Which turn oud to be a hour+ ride. I ride it almost every day for the past two weeks and it still surprising, How effertly and confortly it rides. Even on long inclinds that many others yonger and/or more exspriance end-up pushing there bikes up. The only thing I did I personly didn't like, Was the quick release front wheel. But I swaped wheels from my old bike. But I would have done that any ways. So I feel I got a steel of a deal.

Review 5 for 26" Schwinn Link Women's Bike

Great Value, 08/04/2009
By Iown3bikes
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

I purchased this bike for my wife so she could ride with me and our son. Everything was easy to put together out of the box, adjusted the derailleurs and brakes a little and everything worked smoothly. My wife is 5'4" and felt the seat was too high for her liking (every rider had their own preference ) so I had to replace the seatpost since it couldn't be lowered any further. Doing that led to the loss of shock absorbtion in the seat so I'm currently looking for a replacement seat because the stock seat is a bit hard, even for me and I usually ride on a Fizik K:1 ( a hard carbon fiber seat with only a sliver of technogel ) I would still recommend the bike for anyone in the market just don't be suprised if you feel the need to upgrade a few things to make it fit.

just what I wanted, 07/25/2009
By CasualRider2, Thousand Oaks, CA
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

I bought this bike for my daughter but I think my wife will take it over. The seat is larger than the other Schwinn I bought and has a built in shock absorber. It is heavier than the aluminum bike, but the gears and brakes are smooth. It was very easy to assemble although the instructions were a bit confusing. This is not built for rugged off road riding, but neither is my wife.

Review 7 for 26" Schwinn Link Women's Bike

Great Bike!, 06/07/2009
By MomOf2Boys5, Maryland
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

This bike is incredibly comfortable, easy to adjust, and really easy to use. I was nervous about all the gears because it's been a while since I've ridden a bike, but it was very simple to figure out. The shocks on the front and seat make it a very smooth ride, and the brakes are very responsive, even after a few weeks of regular riding. I had to move the handlebars around a little to get comfortable, but all you need is an allen wrench and they move quite simply. Have been riding 2-3 times a week for a few weeks now, I definitely recommend this bike. I am buying one for my husband for Father's Day!

Review 8 for 26" Schwinn Link Women's Bike

Great Bike!!, 05/26/2009
By 1happyshopper74, North Hollywood
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

This is a very comfortable bike and looks great to boot! I was originally looking at buying a the Schwinn avenue hybrid but after trying this one out went with the Link for several reasons. I liked the mountain bike tires better as I felt they would be sturdier to ride in loose gravel or dirt. I also read the 700c tires were not easy to replace in reviews on this site (men's version). The paint is an attractive blue. This bike had all the same features as the Hybrid, 21 gears, shocks in the front fork and seat post and adjustable handle bars plus it was $50 cheaper than the other bike. In store I paid $169.
After getting it home I noticed that the brakes needing adjusting as the pads kept touching the wheel and the kick stand was loose. I went back to a different store (Santa Clarita)and spoke to the manger Miguel who gladly had one of his assemblers Pedro fix it for me on the spot and he even adjusted the handle bars to a more comfortable height which was fantastic, so my bike is perfect. Have taken it for some long rides and the seat is very comfy and the shocks handle really well and the gears shift perfectly.
The only minor thing that I don't love about it is when not peddling yet moving there is a ticking sound which is normal but slightly annoying.
I would also recommend that if your under 5'4 to check it out in store as the seat may be too high. I am 5'4 and its just right, but because of the shock absorber in the seat post it cannot be lowered. Worth the money- Great Bike - Great service = Happy customer;)

My husband and I each purchased a Schwinn Link bike. Very, very nice ride. I look forward to going for a ride everyday to get my excercise in. We live by a lake so we ride around the lake in the evenings.

Review 10 for 26" Schwinn Link Women's Bike

Very Satisfied, 04/26/2009
By TheAverageConsumer, Iowa
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

I was originally looking for the Sidewinder, but after looking at three different and stores in two cities and being sold out online, I found the Link and bought it. It is very comfortable and very easy to ride. My daughter and I took a 1-1/2 hour ride on the first time out and she tired before me! The gears are numbered on the handlebars and very easy to transfer between gears on the go. I highly recommend this bike!!
