Great coffee without the hassle

We once had a traditional paper filter coffee maker that made exceptional coffee and then took it a step better with a wire mesh filter for reduced expenses. This was great but then it began to fail which is what was expected after 4 or more years. We do not like dealing with the coffee makers that are designed with paper filters. We checked reviews everywhere and found this one to be favorable amongst all others. We like this old class design but they certainly are not made with the glass top and a solid handle like they used to be made back in the day. Now it is inferior plastics. But since we take care of the things we have I expect to have this for a long time and since the cost was very low compared to all others, even if it did fail somehow it is not a loss. This does make coffee alot better than any other coffee make we've ever had over the last 30 years. Sorry Starbucks and DD you have been easily beaten.

Talk about making coffee like the late 1950's -early 1960's. This style of brewing takes me back to that time. I like the nostalgia of the percolator. Coffee takes a little longer to brew. It has a different taste than the drip coffee too! Try it for a look back.

This stainless steel coffee maker is better than what I was expecting.....coffee tastes better in it than the Cuisinart we threw out after it broke after 2 years so I wasn't about to spend that much money again. You don't need filters, cleans up real nice and is pretty solid not flimsy like camping aluminum coffee makers are. We bought a glass top to replace the plastic one we didn't like ( found it on Amazon) for $5 and change. Being from New England and experiencing power failures it came in handy!! We have a propane stove in kitchen so we could still make coffee even though no power in house.....or if you have a grill with a side burner would work well....

There is some confusion in other reviews as well as in descriptions. This piece does NOT have a base to which a magnet will stick and is thus NOT acceptable for use on a magnetic induction range/stovetop. For this I was was dissappointed. However, as I was looking for a non electric coffee pot for use on a camp stove during power outages, the price and function fits my expectations and I'll keep it for that purpose. There are very few non electric coffee pots available and even less that can be used on an induction cooktop with a reasonable price. I would have been willing to pay a bit more if this could have been used with induction as I think the coffee would taste better than with an electric drip unit.
