Acer 10.1" Aspire One AOD150-1165 Blue 10.1" Netbook PC with Intel Atom Processor N270, 160GB Hard Drive, Windows XP, 6-Cell Battery

This netbook is the third Acer that I have purchased. My first purchase was the Acer Travelmate, 2nd was the Aspire One 8.9" and now this Aspire One 10.1". It seems that Acer has done an excellent job with their computers. One of the major benefits of this and my other Acers is the 6 hour battery life. No other computers that I know of, have this type of battery life.
When I purchased this new 10.1", I also purchased a Samsung external CD/DVD drive, that I use with both my 8.9" and 10.1".
The other product that I have for all 3 of my Acers, is the Logitech VX Nano laser wireless mouse. This is the mouse that has the very tiny receiver that you just leave plugged into one of the USB ports on the Acer. The only problem is that I have to label on their mouse cases which computer it goes to, since the receivers and mouse's are identical. However, each mouse only work with their own receiver. I am not a person who paritcularly enjoys using the pad on the computer itself.
I also own a Toshiba laptop that I have had for quite a number of years, and have an HP desktop also. These little netbooks can hold their own against even my Toshiba.
I do alot of traveling, both for leisure and business, and these 2 Acer Aspire One's are little workhorses. When I have alot that I need to do, I sometimes carry my Acer Travelmate.
I can't say enough about them and would advise anyone considering a netbook to purchase these without hesitation. I have compared the Acers with all the other Netbooks, and I find they are the best product.

I have small hands so the keyboard is fine for me but I can see where some might find it a problem.

I really like this machine. Easy to see and use keyboard. Mouse takes a little geting used to. Battery lasts forever compared to most.

This is a good produce, well worth the money.

The size of this unit makes it convenient to take along wherever I go. The start up is fast, and I love the long battery life.

Of course, I only have this PC for a couple of weeks but i am impressed by the vivid screen display and processing speed... all in one small and light package. This make a great back up PC to my bigger 17" variety.

I’m pleased with the Acer netbook. I ordered from WalMart on a Sunday evening and it was on my porch the next morning!

Acer Technical support (phone and email) people responded promptly to concerns. Received a message from Microsoft that IE 8 was available for download. Acer told me that Windows XP was not compatible IE 8 and said to not upgrade.

Like other users I found the touch pad overly sensitive. I’m getting better and found keyboard shortcuts to be helpful. I also bought a wireless mouse that works great (Logitech V220).

The IE 7 did not have the zoom feature in lower right hand corner of the screen. I added it after searching for instructions on Google. It is handy magnifying small print.

My multi card reader doesn’t work. Will not repair. Can work around using USB ports.

Have not bought an external DVD drive and may not. I copied Office installation disk to a flash drive and installed Office from the flash drive.

I removed the McAfee trial program and installed a free version from my internet provider, AT&T.

I bought this little baby and was pleasantly surprised. Does everything I need it to do. I copy the setup files from cd-rom onto usb drive and do the installation from the usb drive so not having a cd drive is not a big deal to me. I only have the 3 cell battery and 1 gig ram card but intend to upgrade those. I have a full size laptop with only an 80 gig hard drive so I was impressed with the larger hard drive. I would definitely recommend this laptop for it's lighter weight and ease of transporting.
