Bought this for my 4 year old grandson. Obviously it is something for which they need supervision to use, and I knew that before buying. His father wanted to start early in teaching him how to use a bow and arrow safely, etc. He is not yet able to pull it all the way back, but is something that as he grows he will be able to do. His dad said the site is off a bit but he will try and fix that. Perfectly good set for this age group. Could not find the arrows sold separately on Walmart's website. Did find the same set and arrows at a local sporting goods store. The set itself was much less at Walmart.

This bow absolutely rocks.....easy for a 6yr old to pull and with the compound deal its real easy to hold while drawn. Not ony that but I love shooting it as well....man its fun! One downside is the tips of the 2 arrows in the kit come off after use but was not really an issue and we had a bunch of older wooden arrows....suggest getting more arrows before unveiling to kiddies.....shooting 2 only is really not so great anyway.....the bow itself is absolutely awesome and crazy fun for the money. One thing to keep in mind with a compound bow.....the kid shooting needs to be big enough to reach the draw length....easy for our 6-8 yr old girls but our 4-5 yr old is strong enough just arms/torso-width just not big enough. For the youngest we got the non-compound Bear Archery 1st Shot Bow Archery Set which as its not compound she cant really hold a good pull for any time....but its still fun....happy shooting/bonding with the wee tots!

Got this for our 6 year old son and he can't put it down. For that matter, neither can we! Would advise purchasing a few more arrows though, since the set only comes with two.

The handle on the bow is a little small and so it hurts my kids hands after shooting. We found that if he wears gloves it helps. Other than that, we like it.

This is a nice little bow for the price. I got it for my son who is 8 for Christmas. It doesn't shoot the arrow very far about 20 feet or so, but we just wanted this for his 1st beginner bow. We need to get better arrows, but it does the job. He shoots his arrow into a hay stack. Works good. Perfect pull, not to hard for him, but he is pretty little for an 8 year old boy. Overall, decent product.

In Camilla, GA there isn't anywhere to go when your six year old wants a bow and arrow for Christmas. Luckily, we found this set by searching the internet, and we could pick it up from the "mini" walmart here. The price was good, but I was worried about quality. Turns out, it is pretty well made. My son has shot and shot the same two arrows that came with this bow, and they are holding out wonderfully. He's even broke a plastic lawn chair with it! No kidding! He had a box propped on the chair, but the arrow went through the box and chair. Left a 1/2 inch wide and 1 1/2 inch tall hole in that old chair. I am glad we went with this bow set instead of the other one with the heavier draw weight. Well, to anyone reading this review- Good luck finding the right bow, and if you do get this one I think you will be as suprised as my husband and I were. -Mrs. Brown

The draw length is not adjustable on this bow. They expect the child to just draw to their length and stop. Not very good for a first bow. It does come with arm guard and finger tab but they are cheap and will need to be replaced quickly. As long as your child is on the upper end of the listed draw lengths you'll be fine.

We bought this for our 9 year old daughter and it is perfect! Very light weight and well built. Shoots the arrows a good distance and pretty accurate. It's not too hard to pull back either which is great! FYI- Our 8 year old son can do it easily, but our 6 year old struggles a bit. Wish it came with more than 2 arrows or even a refill kit available to buy would be nice. She's already lost one in the snow and I can't find where to buy more. But other than that it's great!

You cannot beat this product for the price!!! I went throught some of the other customers reviews and they were right on the money. Right size for kids, my daughter is 13 and she had no trouble with the tension or handling the bow. I will not recommend this for kids under 7 if they are small. It is not a toy and I am very satisfied!!!
