I have had my Hoover Linx for about 6 months and I am not a big fan as the other reviewers. I have had other cordless vacuum cleaners (Shark, Bissel), this is probably my least favorite and Shark being the best. I do not like the battery life, which is MAYBE 20 minutes, whether you have the roller off or on. I will have to say the suction is pretty good and yes, it does look sleek and pretty. I like the product but don't love it. My Shark cordless died after 3 years and my husband bought this for me as a gift, otherwise, I would have bought another Shark.

This cordless vac is great! I needed something for quick cleanups and this is perfect. It has terrific suction and cleans up well along baseboards. This is not meant to replace a deep cleaning by your regular corded vacuum as the charge is good for about 20 minutes. This vac is well worth the money for it's ease of operation. It is also well made, easy to clean out and recharge.

I've only had this a couple of weeks and was going to wait until it stood the test of time before I reviewed, but Walmart sent an email asking for a review, so I figured I'd share my experience with it so far.
I love this vacuum. I bought it based on its' great reviews from people who described similar homes to mine. Much of my home has wood laminate and tile with various sized area rugs throughout. I also have two carpeted rooms.
I have a Cocker Spaniel who sheds and tracks in dirt, a cat who sheds and kicks kitty litter everywhere, and two birds who lose their feathers and knock their bird seed all around the carpet surrounding their cage. I've tried a lot of different cordless gadgets to help me from having to drag out the big vacuum daily, but I've never found anything that cleaned up all the different kinds of dirt on all the different kinds of surfaces like this vacuum does.
Hopefully it doesn't lose suction over time, but so far this thing is powerful enough to replace my big vacuum and all my other cordless gadgets. The only reason I need the big vacuum now is for the attachments to do things like curtains and upholstery. Other than that, this little cordless vacuum can clean everything. I was also really impressed with how well it will clean right up to the edge of a baseboard. Its' profile is low enough to go under my couches about 4 inches or so. It's so lightweight and easy to use that I don't mind vacuuming every day and whenever a mess appears.
I read other reviews complaining about battery life which almost deterred me from purchasing. There is a second battery available, but it's about half the price of the whole vacuum. I thought I might want to buy it anyway, but actually I really haven't had the need for it. I've never timed it, but it does run a lot longer when it's on the floors without the rotating brush than when it's on the carpet. I only have a 1200 square foot home and the battery is always about to go dead right about the time I'm done. If you have a larger home or mostly carpet, you might benefit from a spare battery. The vacuum has a battery indicator light to show you the battery level and it starts blinking when it is getting very low. Neither the suction nor the power of the vacuum are compromised when the battery is low. It runs at full power then immediately turns off when the battery needs to be charged.
The dirt cup is small and fills up quickly but it's easy to empty with a press of a button. There is a little tubular plastic thing above the dirt cup that needs to be removed and cleaned frequently. It's not a big deal; it's very easy to clean, but you kind of need to keep an eye on it.
All in all, I'm so happy I bought this vacuum. When my daughter is on the floor, I can feel confident that it's clean. The floor is always freshly vacuumed because I don't mind vacuuming all the time now that I don't have to lug around a big vacuum.

The Hoover LINX does a fantastic job on bare floors and area rugs and a moderate job on wall to wall carpet with thick padding. Because it has great suction and a clear debris container you will be shocked at how much "stuff" resided in your area carpets. It does not replace a corded canister vacuum or upright. It's not made to clean air conditioning registers, between furniture cushions, ceiling fan blades, etc. etc. which require a flex hose and vacuum tools. I also think a corded vacuum with a beater bar does a better job on wall to wall carpet with thick padding. The Hoover LINX is a vacuum that allows a quick, easy and convenient way to keep that high traffic area clean without having to lug out the heavy corded beast.

I hate housework and I especially hate vacuuming. I chose a cordless because I was fed up of the cord getting in the way all the time. I also detest feeling cat litter under my feet. I got the cordless Hoover now I LOVE vacuuming. What else can I say? My expensive Dyson Ball has not seen daylight since I received my Hoover and it was so easy to set up and charge. If you hate vacuuming buy this and you'll at least vacuum once in a while!!! PLUS, the suction is great!!!

Bought this product after reading positive reviews to use daily to vacuum a rug and tile to remove dog hair. It has totally met expectations and much preferable to the Roomba for solving this cleaning issue. Suction is very good. Battery for doing this kind of cleaning lasts a few days. Also bought the handheld unit Linx BH50030 for use on the sofa and the car. Having both units enables an extra battery at any time for using on one. Both units together are still more economical than the Dyson pet battery unit that sells for $399.

More suction than I ever imagined would be possible from a stick vacuum. Sucks bulldog hair off of wooden floors beautifully. Also pretty amazed at the performance on carpets and rugs for a quick clean up, but it is not a replacement for an upright on carpets. Performance doesn't seem to be affected as the battery is used -- it remains at full power until the Li-ion battery needs to be recharged. I got a second vacuum for quick pickups between cleanings at my office. Highly recommend. Wal-Mart's price is GREAT. Way below Sears' price.

For a battery powered vacuum, the Hoover LiNX cordless is quite remarkable. Bought it to use in our motor home and it does a great job. The proof is in the bag less canister. I was impressed. Use it both on tile floor and a quick switch turns the brush rollers in motion and you move on to low pile carpet. I am very pleased and feel it was money well spent.

This is our 2nd LinX, needed one for the upstairs area and the full size vacuum was heavy to carry up the stairs.
My wife uses it daily on both carpet and wood floors.
Would recommend for light cleanning etc..

This stick vacuum has separate settings for both tile and carpet. It works well on both. It's easy to empty the contents. There is a control on the vacuum which tells how much battery power is left. We've very happy with it. As an additional plus, in an Internet search, we found the best price for this vacuum at Walmart.

works great! do not leave battery in charger to over charge or it will kill battery life over time. too bad they did not invent a charger that would stop charging after battery is fully charged. does a much better job than Shark, Bissell, or Electrolux. i have a yellow Labrador dog and carpets and hard floors.

We love this vacuum because:
1. it does a great job of picking up the dirt and
2. the convenience of recharging. Many other rechargeables recharge by docking the entire vacuum into a charger stand that must be near a plug. So, in effect, you have to store the unit out in the open near a plug. However, this model has a battery the easily pops out of the vacuum and is recharged in a charger, that's only slightly larger than a deck of cards, that can be put on a counter near any plug while the vacuum itself is stored out of sight in a closet.

Could not pick up a paperclip

Maybe I dd something wrong by not assembling it correctly but this stick vac couldn't even pick up a small paperclip. Its great for lint. When I tried vacuuming hair a good part of it got stuck in the rollers and didn't make it into the bag. I should have called Hoover before returning it to see if i was doing something wrong. I love the fact the battery is replaceable but there was very little suction.

The Hoover Linx is the most powerful battery powered vacuum we have ever purchased.

Everyone who comes to visit has to see "my new vacuum" You'd think I was a kid with a new toy. But I am! It's lightweight, runs from carpet to floor and goes everywhere quickly because you never feel the burden of a cord. Unlike a toy vacuum it actually works. It may only run 15 min, but that's a positive for me because I procrastinate less when I know that a job will soon be over. The house is now cleaner all the time Even the garage...ease of use is everything.
My neatnik husband enjoys using it too.
