Disappointed

I returned this instrument immediately. It wouldn't even make a sound. It was so disappointing. I purchased it as a gift and was mortified of how cheaply made it was and that it refused to make any sound.
I have since then bought a beautiful used violin for the same price and am very pleased!

If your Violin does not make a sound
Posted 11/30/2011
What you need to do if your violin does not make a sound is to pull out the rosin.
Do some cross hatching with a pin, knife, nail or anything that will score the rosin. Then, apply the rosin from the frog all the way up to the bow's head making sure to make a nice pass with the rosin. Do that step a few times and your violin will sound like it should. I purchased this violin for my daughter and I must say it is a delight to play, the sound is excellent . Compared to the ones that are for rent at the music stores this violin is a 10/10. After a little while I upgraded the string to orchestra grade, purchases some fine tuners for each string (4), and some Peg Drops by Ardsley. In addition you must have a tuner if you are not a pro (and even then it is needed). I purchased the Snark SN-2 All Instrument Clip-On Chromatic Tuner for about $12 at A ma zon. I am a flute maker and I have several tuner, but the SNAK is accurate and VERY EASY TO USE and did I mentioned cheap.
All and all I will give this instrument a 9/10 and will definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable violin with great craftsmanship. The quality of the sound is super and the instrument is very well made. IT HAS A WARRANTY FOR A YEAR IF ANYTHING IS NOT UP TO SPECS.
