I bought the green laptop for my daughter for college. She has been using it everyday since I set up our wireless network. The only thing that I was disappointed about was that it came with Vista Home Basic which isn't dependable enough on a college network. Looks like we'll have to upgrade to Vista Home Premium. The battery doesn't hold a charge longer than 2 hours but this is a common problem for most laptops. Other than that, the laptop serves its purpose.

This laptop is worth the money. It has a wonderful battery life, didn't take long 2 arrive through shippin, and its not hard 2 start up. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is bcause the mouse doesn't work right sometimes so u should get another mouse 2 plug up 2 it. Other than that this is a wonderful computer 4 the price!!!!

I bought this computer for my sister in August 2008 for college as a graduation gift. The computer screen went out. Did online troubleshooting with dell. When it didn't work, suggested that I take the computer apart to find the problem. Had to make multiple calls for them to pick up computer. When they received computer. Was told internal crack in screen and wanted $300 to fix. Computer has never been dropped. After telling them that was ridiculous, they offered to fix it for $199. What??? No one knows how to contact the corporate office at customer service. I am now stuck with a computer that does not work because I refuse to pay half of what I paid for the computer to have it fixed. I encourage everyone to look at other brands. The price seems reasonable, but if your computer is defected through no fault of your own, you would be better off buying the expensive one or another brand.

this is an amazing laptop. the color in the picture kinda makes it darker green. its a lime green laptop! i love it. the only thing is i downloaded sims2 and it blacks out and freezes a lot. but i really dont mind not playing that. it has a little touch thing to turn up the volume. i got the printer case and laptop and flashdrive. GOODDEAL for what the price was it was amazing.

I don't get upset very much. But, this laptop was the last straw. I ordered my laptop on-line and when I opened it up I went over all the paperwork and did everything just as stated. I had bought the laptop for my Grandson's birthday and thought it would be a great tool for him to learn on. I being nerd from about 1986 I knew my way around most any bugs. After a tricky mouse and the normal vista bugs I found that a number of drivers were out of date. As well as way to many adds for things note needed. Long story short. I wiped the hard drive and loaded xp pro. works great now. After he gets used to working with xp I'll upgrade him Windows 7. Windows 7 from what I've tested at Microsoft will be as stable as XP with all the visuals of Vista.. I do hope this will help someone...

Vista Home Basic runs faster and better than I had been led to believe and has not caused any problems. On the other hand the mouse pad is problematic and we nearly returned the computer because of the wild cursor. Cursor would take off and do stuff and go places on it's own. We had to call tech support (in India) for help and they installed a new mouse driver and a BIOS update via the internet and improved the mouse situation substantially. The mouse works pretty well in the applications we have tried although it still does weird stuff on some web sites. I got this computer for my wife, it replaces a Dell 1200 that NEVER gave us any problems. If she is having a computer problem it quickly becomes MY problem. So while the display is beautiful and it is speedier than the old computer the new mouse/touchpad system can be troublesome.

Don't get me wrong, this is a nice computer, but it is very sensitive. The battery life is terrible. Full battery gives you 2 hours to get what you need done, otherwise it will turn off on you. Also, Windows Vista Basic is very disappointing. Other than that, it is a very attractive computer. I love the width of it, the size of the keyboard, and the quality of the pictures. I would say it is a nice buy for a beginner.

We have really enjoyed using our new Dell laptop. The sound doesnt seem to be real loud and the battery does not last long at all. Other than that I would say this laptop has been very satisfactory for me and my family. I like the design and the big screen for veiwing.

I am very happy with this laptop... it's fast, does everything I need, has gorgeous, clear resolution and a pretty green color. But the AC adapter cord is HORRIBLE. I've only had the laptop for a few weeks and the adapter has given me nothing but trouble. The laptop doesn't detect it being there even though it is plugged into a working outlet, the green light is on, and it's properly plugged into the laptop. Then, without warning, it DOES detect power coming in. But only for a few minutes before it's off again. I went on the Dell website and apparently this is a very common problem with these adapters. That's no consolation when I can't use my awesome new laptop, though. I will have to spend some time on the phone with a customer service rep, I guess, to get to the bottom of it. It's too bad these adapters are such crummy quality. Dell doesn't everything else so well, I've been a loyal customer for years and years now as this is my second Dell PC, but I do think they need to develop a new power source/ adapter that is reliable and WORKS.

This laptop met my expectations with one exception, the video card. Wish it were a bit better. If you don't have too many games it will perform wonderfully. Its a great little web computer. And I have a business on line, it works great for that .

I bought this same laptop a year ago for my daughter, and it has worked very well for her so I just bought one for myself- and it's great. Vista is not complicated and I find the Dell brand is best for reliability in PCs. I would suggest getting the webcam with it, much easier to use than an external one.

I purchased this lap top and read about the battery issue (good for one hour) so I purchased a $289.00 6 hour battery kit from Dell and when I put it on my BRAND NEW DELL LAP TOP the screen went BLACK and that is that. All my college home work and every day life was in it. I had the worse luck with DELL trying to get it warranted and they require 15% restocking fee for taking it back plus the UPS shipping price to send it in.

This computer is awesome! I got it in the bundle with the HP printer, the laptop case, and the USB flash drive. It works great, the only thing is the battery only holds a charge for a little over an hour. So i would suggest purchasing a backup battery. Other than that it is excellent for the price!
