I own a lot of birds, most of them being cockatiels which have a lot of dander,everything in my birds room was always covered in their white dander, I'd scrub all my grey shelfs, their black cages, and my walls(covered in plastic) several times a week just to wake up the next day to a lovely layer of white dust
i bought this for their room and within in 3 days i could tell a huge difference, i scrubbed down one of my grey shelf's the day after i got it, (normally i get up the next day and its dust covered again) well here it is going on one week since i've washed it and it is still nice and clean - the filter on this is already pure white 3 days later It was covered in dander That showed me exactly how well this product works I am including a picture of the filter after a 3 day use (the filter used to be jet black) and as you can see in the picture its no longer black the only black part is the Velcro it attaches with. I would suggest this to any one,with animals, who smokes, or just needs to clean the air, living in states that you can't open the windows all year long (I live in Indiana and its winter time) this will help a lot of people
Also if you have allergies this is the thing to get, my boyfriend gets up every morning sneezing his head off for a good hour after he is up(he has done this all his life so its not the birds or the 1 beagle i own) since we've had this he's only sneezed several times and for about 20 mins instead of the normal 1 hour of sneezing every morning.
now the only downfall(s) are it is not quiet unless its on Low, med. is loud and high is louder , and the directions were not clear about the piece you were supposed to remove to put on the filter that it came with So while removing the black mesh piece the rubber on the filter did get torn, but it still works (not even 100% sure if that black mesh piece was supposed to come off but that is what the directions said to do)
