After 2 months of using this machine I'm getting out of area message and the machine refuses to play discs that it played previously. There are no software updates to fix it with . And by the way there isn't an eject button on the remote. ??????

Wonderful product. Plays DVD's clearly. The only problem I have is that you can not open DVD tray with remote. Otherwise it has all the features I need.

I bought this DVD player about 6 months ago and it played great. Then just recently it has been giving me an error message saying DVD cannot load and the DVD just spins in the player. Very disappointed! What a waste of 40 bucks.

I purchased this for my 8 yr. old granddaughter to replace the cheaper model that she had in her bedroom that failed after a short time. Knowing that that age group can be hard on this kind of equipment, I selected a Sony based on the companies good reputation. It is small and sleek which makes it eye appealling. I am very pleased with the quality of the equipment as it not only has a sturdier casing (metal feeling instead of some fabrication of plastic), the controls feel like they are better quality, and the picture and sound transmission is better than the prior DVD player. The price was very good for the quality recieved. I would definately recommend this for someone looking for a simple DVD player of quality!

We got this DVD player in hopes to save money, but it ended up just being trouble. When we brought it home, it was easy enough to read through the manual and set it up. We popped in a DVD we had just rented and it played through the trailers with no problem, but then when we got to the actual movie, there were no voices. The movie played smoothly, the background audio worked perfectly, but the main characters would not talk. We decided to switch it over to the next audio and it worked... but in french! This just completely puzzled me. We're taking it back today and we aren't buying another.

Failed to load any kind of movie, first failed on RW-DVDs so i tried normal DVD's none would play. First Sony product I have had problems with, hopefully it isnt a trend.

just purchased this today at levittown town center in penna for 39.96 in the store, i wasn't offered an extended warranty but i would hope this would last at least a year, if it does all the better, the phillips model for 29.95 is what it is repalcing, i would buy another sony but skip the phillips models

I used this DVD player once...and it worked great! I went to use it a second time about 2 weeks later, and nothing would load...the disk would just keep spinning. I'm going to try to exchange the product for another one, but wouldn't recommend it.

I used this dvd maybe 4 times, and then it suddenly stopped working. Now it won't load DVDs at all. When I contacted Sony to see if they'd give me a replacement, I found out it would cost more to get a refurbished replacement than to buy a new one. I was trying to pinch pennies when I bought it, but it wasn't worth the money.
