Not what I expected but does the job

I purchased this shelving unit for my boyfriend to store his DVDs and games on. I was very disappointed with the overall size of the product and one of the shelves doesnt fit perfectly like all the others. We are keeping it because it does do what it was intended to do and its more of a hassle to send it back. I def. do not agree with the pricing its very over priced for the quality and size that you get!

Dont expect to read your stored DVDs!

I should have paid attention to the dimensions as well. I thought "stores up to 50 dvds" as meaning you would be able to see the names of your stored dvds.
Not so!!
First, you cant stand your DVDs vertically with all shelves installed.
Second, if you "do" decide to store all your dvds you cant place them vertically either as the dvds are wider than the shelf opening.
Therefore, the only way to store your dvds are 1) flat stacked on top of one another and all you see if the grey/black side of the dvd and would have no way of knowing which dvd was on the shelves.
2) you have to remove 2 shelves (they lay on pegs anyway) in order to place dvds on shelf to read the side labels...by doing this you actually can only store 10 dvds on each shelf.

This leaves you with a remaining shelf (the middle shelf which you screw in) approximaly 4/5 inches in height that you could lay about 4 or 5 dvds flat.
I decided to place one box set that I don't watch often on this shelf as it's basically unusable.
The way this unit is configured..if you want to see the names of the dvds you can only store a total of 10 dvds on each shelf for total storage capacity of 20 dvds + the random shelf = 24 total dvds.
Not worth the $60 bucks..no wonder they don't show the unit with DVDs on the shelf.
I would return the unit if I had not wasted the time assembling (which was fairly easy).

I should have paid attention to the dimensions, because I thought by 'Media storage tower' it would hold some of my components, DVD player etc... I does hold my wireless router and internet modem along with blank DVD's for recording. I have 2 very small children and if I used it for what it was meant for, my movies and CD's would be ruined. For what it is meant for, it is a lovely piece to sit next to my gorgeous new TV stand in the exact color. It is also a decent quality and I would not send it back for the value it does add to my decor.
