Good value for a small area

I am using this dehumidifier in a small (10 x 10) basement room. The room does have two windows but had a noticeable damp smell. After running the dehumidifier during the day with the door to the room closed, I can tell a marked difference in the dampness and the smell. I empty the tank about every 3 days and it has about two cups of water. It is doing the job I bought it for.

I didn't know what to expect when I purchased this dehumidifier given its inexpensive price and diminuitive size. However, I was pleased when I saw the amount of water being drawn from the air every week in the collection tank. The disadvantages include typical thermoelectric electricity inefficiency (compared to refrigerant systems# intirinsic in the design used with this dehumidifier #and ones like it# and the small drain hole that makes it difficult to remove 100% of the water in the collection tank. But, for the price, you REALLY can't beat this unit for controlling the humidity in small to medium sized rooms. I use this unit in a utility room that sits on a concrete slab that is always pulling moisture into the air from the ground beneath the foundation and #with the way it has been performing) I predict it will prevent mold from growing in that space. Buy a WalMart warranty with it....cheap insurance in case you have problems; WalMart Product Assist is great when it comes to making good on warranty claims.

Good Humidifier for Small Space

We have only used it once and tested it in the humid bathroom. It took down the humidity by 10 points so we are satisfied that it works. We plan on using it in our travel trailer so I will have more feedback at a later date. I would warm that the transformer gets hot so there is a need to put something like a coaster under it to keep the counter from getting discolored due to the heat it puts out. We will be putting a ceramic coaster under our unit.

I recommend this product if you have a lot of moisture in your home. It really works! I was skeptical at first, but after seeing the water in the tank, I'm a believer. It reduces the bad moldy, musty smell in your house and keeps the mold from returning. I believe our house is too tightly insulated and that is what is causing the mold and bad smells. But with this product, it's gone! We will most surely be buying a larger one for the rest of the house.

First one we've ever purchased!, was not sure what to expect? It is SMALL and Quite. But either we don't have as much moisture as we thought or it is LACKY runs all day and only accumulates about a half cup of water?

We are using this dehumidifier in a small room and it works very well. We were amazed at the moisture it was collecting. Initially, it was slightly loud but after we placed it on a padded surface the noise is barely noticeable. Great Product!

Our apartment is older and we put this in our highest humidity room. It's been in there for two weeks running day and night and has less than an inch of water in the reservoir. The humidity in our room tops out at times at 60%, but NEVER goes below 55% (that was before the dehumidifier) and we have seen zero difference in the hygrometer we have and it's sitting right next to the dehumidifier. I will be returning this for sure! The only positive - it is very quiet.

Got this becouse everyone said it worked great got it home ran it about 48 hr.. It had about six drops of water in the tank and its been raining here for 3 days now.Maybe I got a bad one.

I purchased this dehumidifier, since the fan in my bathroom ceiling was not doing the job. The manual stated "Do not use this unit in a bathroom or shower." After using this in the bathroom, the only thing it did was keep one section of my bathroom mirror dry. MAYBE if it were close to the ceiling instead of by my sink it would work, but I doubt it.

I am really pleased with the Sunpentown Mini Dehumidifier. It is so lightweight yet does the job of ridding my home of dampness. I can carry it from room to room and it is so quiet, almost silent when running. The empty tank is very easy to use and I was happy to see that my rooms were not as humid as I thought. It is not unsightly, either. Nice looking and compact. All in All I am very happy with this purchase at a great price!
