I got this webcam in feb. and it stopped working about 4 months later. The cord had a shortage. Works for basic video chat.

I have other webcam's and they all work fine with
the laptops and desktops we have. This camera has poor video in local mode and fails to work correctly on line. I tried it with the supplied software and without the software. I have already returned the unit. It does look nice.

Nice little web cam, my only beef is that theres no way to have a call without the web cam going on.Even if I'm Skyping with someone that has no computer, the webcam comes on.

For the price, you can't beat this webcam. I am new to Skype and this works perfectly. It can be a little grainy every now and then, but the sound is good quality, and I am overall very happy with my purchase.

We bought this camera in order to add a dimension to phone calls with our family stationed overseas. It's a nice camera, but if we bump the wire, it slips off the monitor. Also, each time we have a phone session, we have to reset our audio settings. Maybe it's that way with all webcams; we are still learning.

Poor Performance, worst support ever

Seemed to worked great after plugged in, then performed poorly the next time. Very smired looking images. Not great performer, not good image. Face tracking software did not work with me or other individuals (did worked with the neighbor's kids). Did not work with Skype, not enough setting/info from the software. Contacted HP for support and it was the worst experience ever, which I just returned it without calling them. Returned the webcam after days of torture. I would say AVOID all HP products at all costs.

I love my webcam! It's everything that others said it was. The pictures are clear and the sound is awesome. Although, it took a minute for the cam to arrive at my doorstep---I still love it for the price. Be advised that the order will ship via the US Postal System and therefore, no one needs to sign for it. I was upset about that and this is the reason the cam took so long to get to me. What happened to ground shipping through UPS?

In the short time I have had this new camera, I have noted that it is one of the fastest I've seen for tracking. It also has excellent film quality, can record with no glitches and so very much more. The software that comes with it has some interesting additions over and above the ordinary webcam. It outshines my husband's webcam, and I thought it was awesome when he got his. The prices for them were nearly identical, so that made me smile as well. If it weren't against the rules, I would share with you the videos uploaded to YouTube. I feel that it is a thousand times better at recording accuracy and clarity than my old Logitech, which is what I used for our Christmas gift to the family tree. This one puts that one in a dumpster, that's how much better it is. Yes, I work a lot with short movie clips. I absolutely adore the quality of this camera, and my church members do as well. I cannot say enough good things for this camera. It is tracking accurately, if I move, even quick movements, the camera will adjust. It takes crystal clear photos too. You'll love this I guarantee that.

I connected the webcam and it worked for 5 days then I couldn't get Skype or ArcSoft to recognize the cam. So I reinstalled the software provided, reinstalled Skype..and nothing I spent 6 hours working on this problem, including emailing HP support. Nothing worked..so I returned it. I purchased a Logitech that works.

everything was wonderful except for the hinge used to attach it to a computer. i attached it to my desktop monitor and it had some problems staying on there, a bit irritating at times but after i got it settled everything was good!

This product practically installed itself. A few clicks of the mouse and I was up and running. I use it to communicate with my son who is in Japan with the military. We get to see as well as hear each other when we link. The camera clips to my laptop or can sit on the desk. It can also be handheld. Picture quality is excellent. Well worth the price. It more than met my expectations.
