I have purchased this product three times. It does work well and keeps odor virtually non-existent. It will take a little while to get used to the sound of the litter box running. If you are gentle removing the waste receptacles = you can reuse them. You add cat litter when you clean the waste receptacle. If your cat tends to urinate in one corner, you will need to scoop that out and let the machine dispose of it. The one issue I have with these machines is that they tend to die as soon as the one year warranty is over. They work great while they work, but the price is too high to replace them annually. I have had 3 machines back to back, and the last 2 only lasted one year. The first one lasted 3 years. I think the quality has gone down. Just keep that in mind.

I bought the updated pan thinking that all the bugs have been worked out. Boy was I wrong. The pan does not hold enough litter for the three cats and it has to be cleaned and refilled every day. About one third of the clean litter ends up in the refuse pan and it is such a waste. The cheaper pan works better and can go 2 or three days between cleanings.

I decided to return it as soon as I put it together. First of all it looks cheaply made which is crazy because of the price of it. On top of that I went to Amazon.com and read the reviews on there and most people were complaining about still having to clean and remove stuff from the sifter. So, if I'll have to clean it every 2-3 days, I'd rather save my money.

I've purchased three of the early Littermaids and been very happy with them. Purchased this unit because of the metal rake and larger size. Problem is the machine doesn't clean the litter. The rake raises up and allows the litter to remain in the box. Two emails to the company produced no reply.

I purchased to reduce some of my morning chores. However, I found this to be additional work. You have to clean all the gears, grate and what not. The cats urinate in all the nooks and crannies. I purchased the more expensive litter as well, but it still got all hung up on the grate. Returned immediately. Stick to the old fashion way, it is less work.

We had owned an earlier version of the Littermaid a few years ago and liked it, but left it when we moved. We're old hat at the Littermaid game. Purchased this item before Christmas, and shipping was fine. Product has never worked properly. It was easy enough to assemble, but the display kept blinking. There was no troubleshooting information for this specific problem; customer service via phone was unavailable; online support is non-existent. I ended up writing a feedback message to LitterMaid but got no reply. They don't care...they have their money. I now have a very expensive, very not automated cat box. Please do not bother to buy this product....it's an excursion into frustration and futility.

Should have done this sooner. Love the litter box. It has taken a load off of me cleaning and replacing litter all the time. Most important of all. The stink is gone!!!!!!! Love it! Need to be sure and use the correct litter and you'll not have any problems.

I read all of the reviews and despite all of the negative reviews, bought this product anyways. I had a previous LitterMaid that I accidentally destroyed by washing it in water. :( I have 4 cats and this product works like a dream. The reason why most users rate it badly is because they are using clay cat litter. The best litter to use with automatic cat box cleaners is litter made entirely from whole-kernel corn. This type of litter clumps like the clay with both urine and feces. The bonus is that it is flushable. Because it is flushable, you can continue to reuse the plastic trays provided until they break. Using all of the trays provided with the box should last up to 3 years. I would recommend this product to anyone with 1 or more cats.

I do not recommend this model. The metal prongs do not work as well as the plastic prongs on the deluxe mega model. It doesn't pick up the waste as described. I do recommend the deluxe mega model though!! I sent this one back.

We have 2 cats & had read previous reviews & thought this would be a great product. ONLY perk to it is that it scoopS 10 mins. after the cat goes. The unit gets soiled & the "forks" get plugged & then it doesn't scoop right. Sometimes spills litter out the side when it scoops. Tracks get dirty & squeek VERY loud even after cleaning them. Ours is in the basement & we can hear it upstairs along with smelling it even though we change the containers before completely full. Another disadvantage is you have to order the containers on the internet. They can be sent to Wal-Mart but if you run out & forget to preorder them, you are sunk. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT!

I had purchased one when I was with my ex-boyfriend and our cat Mittens loved to have a clean box all the time but now that I am living with my sister I am going to buy one for her cat and she would love to have one. I had an older model of a litter maid and after 3 + years of service it broke & knew I could not live without another one & I went on line and found this one and it sounded great. I ordered it & then had the frustration of trying to get it all assembled & then now I have tried 3 different types of litter and the scooper portion does not seem to go deep enough & only picks up the surface & leaves the rest. I have seen no improvement in the odor & I am scooping more than I ever had to do before. I have had it for 2 weeks and I am going to contact the store and see if I can get my money back. It is a major disappointment. I wish I would of bought the basic model like I had before.

This product does work to an extent, however, with the wrong littler it can and most likely will jam up on you and the motor may fail and skip and you will have to call in to the manufacturer to have a new one sent (not to mention the $10 check you have to send for shipping and handling). Every few hours I would go and check on the littler box and of course my cats did their deed near the rake so the rake would just dump small portions into the dump box and the rest would be either stuck on the rake or still there. Plus with the wrong litter is will definitely cause the motor to die on you because it's just not that strong. Recommend going with something that is light (arm and hammer "essentials" it's natural and light and better for your cats unlike clay littler). You may find yourself picking up after it, that's basically what it comes down to.

WE have had the other Litter maids and this is by far the Best one there is for ease of use and set up the rake can be removed for cleaning it has an Ionic Air purifier a charcoal oder remover Timers and push button on and off switch on top rather than the slide one/off switch that is on the side of the other liter maids. A much larger liter box area for cats to do there thing. It stays rather clean.
