Philips Norelco 6940 Electric Razor

No batteries or chargers. Simply plug in and use. Have used this shaver daily for approximately two months. Quiter and smoother shave than my last Norelco shavers; I have had four over the past 20 years. This is simply a great value for the money.

After 25 years my corded Norelco 550tl broke but I did replace the resistor 15 years ago. Now that I see all of this new technology I have doubt. The corded model's motor spins at least 50% faster than the rechargeable types. That's because the motor is AC powered and is probably like 24 to 36 volts. At most the rechargeables are 12 volts. I want the 6423lc. Funny, the lowest end model, corded, is the fastest most powerful.

For the past several years I had been using a Remington rotary shaver with moderate results. When it gave out I bought another and was totally disgusted with its performance. I picked up the Norelco and love it! It shaves very close with more comfort and in less time.

It is quite and gave good shave. Did a decent job. Color is ok, not attractive. The thing I do not like is the power cable easily comes loose during the shaving.

Father's Day present for my husband. My fault - didn't check to see if it was cordless. Plus my husband said it seemed very hard to shave with - cord is short and he didn't feel he got a close shave. We are returning for another Norelco though because that is the ONLY shavers he will use. But will go for a more expensive cordless. May be OK if you don't mind not being able to "stretch" the cord very much.

The new Norelco is so smooth and quiet that I, at first, thought it was not turned on. It is great.

I don't care for the fact that it isn't cordless, but otherwise a above average shaver.

I received my Philips Norelco 6940 electric Razor today and LOVE it! It's very quite and easy to use. I am amazed at how close it shaves and leaves your skin feeling soft, no stubble. I give this Razor 5 stars! Great product for the buck. I HIGHLY recommend this Razor!

I previously had a Norelco shaver for 17 years before the cord went out. I decided it was time to upgrade rather than replacing the cord. When I first used this new shaver, I thought it wasn't running properly when I first turned it on. It was so quiet, and when I used it, it gave me a great shave. For a few days, I had to get used to how quiet it was. For the price, you can't beat the close shave it gives. I prefer the corded shavers over rechargeables because rechargeables won't last as long. My last corded Norelco lasted 17 years, and probably would have lasted longer. But I'm glad I upgraded. Great shaver for the price.
