Sound wasn't working

The sound was not working when i took it out of the box. I called the number in the manual, and was told to send it to them for REPAIR!! So I am out more money for shipping the item back and will now have a reconditioned item when i get it back. I am hoping this unit will be worth the money.

I took it out of the box and put it together quite easily. Read the directions first and then went out on my property to do some exploring / testing. In just a few minutes I found some coins and some other junk (nails, bolts, washers)... It started to rain so I had to head inside but looking forward to future 'hunts'. I like how the Bounty Hunter is so lightweight and easy to handle.

Great detector for land and dry sand. First time out dug 2 quarters a dime and sterling ring along with loads of trash. Took it to the beach and it was great in the dry sand up top finding a bobbie pin and a paper clip both around 4 inches down. In the wet sand it goes crazy descrimenate all you want you lose targets and still get chatter. Id buy it again just not for the wet sand at the beach. It has found coins, rings and junk down to around 6 inches for me so far. The pin pointer isnt the greatest but it works, just read the instructions. Its a great park or yard detector for the $$$.

I gave this to my 12 year old son for Easter 2013. We found so many cool things with it in our back yard that day! We also bought the Bounty Hunter Jr for my 5 year old daughter (also works pretty good). We had so much fun with it. We used it all day and can't wait for tomorrow to resume our hunt. Found a 1970's Grape Coke can in our yard.! The kids definatley got excited every time to see what it was. This is one of the best purchases that I've made. Considering getting more for my hubby and I. Thanks, Wal-Mart, for the fast shipping and for carriying such a great product.

I received my metal detector during a snow storm so I haven't had a chance to use it. I can't wait until it is clear enough to use it though.

Great for a beginner. I had a little trouble at first trying to zero in on my find, but after using it a few times, it gets easier. I now have no trouble knowing exactly where to dig. I would highly recommend!

cannot dectect pennies dimes nickels when holding in hand so i tried to burried a nickel 2 inches deep it couldnt identify as nickel instead it showed as metal then quarter then tried to show it as 8 inches deep. Dont waste your time or money on buying this junk even accessories was poor quality the hand one wouldnt even detect nickel when put it in the hole with it.

With practice, I was able to follow an underground (about 10 inches down) water pipe through a back yard with lots of old nails, etc. I used little red flags to mark the path as I tracked the pipe for about 20 feet, and when I dug a tiny hole with my sharpshooter spade, the pipe was right in the middle. I also used the pinpointer to find a small piece of metal after the detector indicated the general location.

I ordered this for my husband's birthday just a few days ago. I had ordered it last minute & was willing to use the FREE site to store delivery. This is a great detector for the amount spent. It's not exactly accurate for the depth of objects found but the pinpointer that comes with it eases that problem somewhat. Some reviews have griped about the pinpointer, but I find that it works great and saves alot of time. This detector will find coins like it should but the lower end of the scale, iron, nickels, and pulltabs, will drive you crazy. If you want to be safe on low signals then you must dig everything. For the $$$ this thing is hard to beat.

The metal detector was put to the test within one hour after the gift was openned. It does a great job at locating and providing the approximate depth of the object. After several tests to see if the detector actually could distinguish between quarters, dimes and nickels... it was spot on every time. This is a great entry level detector for the weekend warrior looking to score something on the beach!

this machine is junk. refuses to ignore pull tabs. used all modes nd disc settings. tabs just shown as other coins on different settings. on low setting they show as nickels and turn it up they show as dimes. useless in parks.

This was my first metal detector ever purchased.On my third day out with it I found a 14kt gold chain and pendant!! Gold chain is 20" long and weighs 16.5 grams.Pendent was a cross that weighed 3 grams.Over a half 0z. of gold on only my third day out.Ya this detector gets 5 stars across the board from me!!
