Wow Walmart, another great product for the price.
This laptop is perfect for the home/office/multimedia/casual gamer.
1. It's Intel based dual core architecture is better than amd's design.
2. The display is great and configurable, and has hdmi capability.
3. The graphics on this laptop shine for what they are designed to do, fast and really responsive. Not for hardcore gamers but if it were you'd be paying more and probably be getting an non integrated solution and most likely a ati or nvidia based chipset.
4. The hard drive is of good size for a laptop, and its split into two separate partitions one for OS and one for DATA, you tell me how to use them seeing VISTA still uses the OS partition for music, pics, and videos... I guess ya just should be a little more particular on where you put your stuff.
5. The sound is great on this laptop just don't expect it to fill a symphony hall.
6. It has great expandability with 3 usb 2.0 ports, a pc-card slot. It also has nice media options too with the Multi-DVD Burner, and multimedia card slots. It also comes with an HDMI output port, nice for T.V.'s which can use it.
7. It has great communication options, with ethernet, modem and b/g/n wifi capabilities it rules. I more than a few times now got higher than 2.5 megs throughput, based on what the downloader said I was reaching. At times it seems faster than my desktop which is gigabit ethernet.
I got to admit it does have a couple of weaknesses, one is the finger pad is touchy, maybe I can change that but I mostly use a wireless mouse anyways. The other thing is the noise of the dvd drive when it powers up, it sounds like its going to take off sometimes. And one final thing, be aware about the OS, its Vista and that's fine for me but it's a 64 bit version of Vista so be careful for some of the programs out there might not be fully compatible with it.
All in all Gateway has made another GREATWAY laptop, which when combined with Walmart is an awesome buy.

When I was looking at computers, I was a little nervous to get a Gateway because I didn't know a lot about them. I went with my gut feeling and bought this one anyway... it's a good thing because I absolutely LOVE it! The screen is so clear, the speakers work great, it's fairly lightweight, and the overall look is very sleek. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this laptop to anyone.

The Gateway M7315u far exceeded my expectations. I primarily use it for my job, but during the lulls I access the Internet. This machine is fast and efficient. I made it even faster by removing/disabling the unnessary start up programs and devices. Highly recommend this laptop!!

This is my 4th laptop. It blows away anything else I have used. The 250GB Hard Dive, coupled with the 2 GHz 64 bit processor and 4 GB Ram far exceeds my expectations. I use my new laptop for home and business use. I reccommend this product 100%. For the money, you can't beat it.

This is the computer I've always wanted. It's quick to backup on DVD's, and with 4 G of ram, it's super quick and smooth. I'm only using it for the internet and email - everything else goes on the old, slower computer. It will definitely make the internet a great experience, with the speed and smoothness.

This laptop was perfect for me, it had all the things I was needing. I do many things with recording and making music, so this laptop made things much more easier with the programs I installed. I recommend this laptop, especially for the price and all the RAM and Hard Drive that it has.

I got this laptop on Halloween. I am very impressed with it. It's very fast, with 4GB of memory and it runs Vista 64 bit edition way better than I thought it would. I haven't had any problems with it thus far, only thing that could be better is the integrated webcam freezes some, but that isn't a big deal. I really love Gateway, and they will have my business here on out.

I love my laptop. It was bought just for me and no one else. My fiance had gotten one from dell and i wanted my own too. I can keep anything i want in it and password protect it so no one can get into it. It has an awesome look. The processor is good it is just as good as his...minus the fingure print reader....but for a fraction of the cost. I thought that because it was so cheap i would be returning to get a more expensive one that worked a lot better but i love it. Its not designed for gaming or anything but it fits my need perfectly. Now i dont have to fight to get on the computer he is out of my hair and i can peacefully surf the web.
A must have to go with this...the linksys wifi connector. Play online with no power cord or eathernet cord to get tangled in!!!

this is a great laptop for the price. the boot time on mine is less than a min. The 4gigs of ram really help speed up vista, because vista uses so many resources on start up. the only draw back is that it has ingrated graphics, i play halo 2 on mine and i have to run it on the lowest settings possible. but all in all this is a good laptop for checking email, watching videos and music. also the disk drive is on the right side instead of the left like my dell laptop, which is annoying for me because Im right handed, but not a big deal. but if your looking for a not too expensive laptop for everyday computing and word processing, this is the one for you :]
