We purchased this this weekend. It's our third elliptical. We had a big name brand, but it was HUGE and VERY heavy. Took up most of a room. Then we switched to another model. That one was creaky and noisy, but very functional. This one is, by far, the best unit we've had to date. It went together in just over an hour, takes up little floor space and is very quiet and easy to use. The heartrate monitor is a very cool feature too. We shopped all weekend, and are very glad we got this model. If you're looking for a small, simple to use elliptical, this is the one, especially if you're on a budget. Well done Weslo (and Walmart). Also, the in-store price was even better than online pricing.

I don't like it. We can't get it adjusted correctly. The tension adjustment knob really doesn't work. It squeaks a lot when you use it. It's not real sturdy and wobbles when you operate it. I wished I would have spent more money and bought something more substantial.

Great Budget Elliptical

I purchased this elliptical in September 2011 (about 8 months ago) after cancelling a gym membership. I decided it was more worthwhile to build a small, at-home gym, but I couldn't spend much. I'm the kind of person who reads reviews religiously, and I knew what I was getting with this elliptical.
First of all, if you're used to the elliptical at your gym, do realize this will NOT compare. The stride is noticeably shorter and the machine overall just isn't as smooth. It WILL start squeaking, grinding, and clunking in some shape or form - it isn't made to be top quality. It's a stable piece of equipment, but if you tried hard enough you could tip it over while on it.
That being said, I would still absolutely recommend this machine, for the price if nothing else. It serves its purpose and gets the job done, and let's be completely honest - do you really need a machine that a professional athlete could train on?
I can't say much for the LCD display... I use mine as a towel rack and track my progress using other methods. I've never had problems with it, though. It seems to work just as well as the rest of the elliptical.
Personally I've used this elliptical 3-5 times a week for at least 8 months now. When I started, I could only go for ten minutes before I felt like dying, and it was the only exercise I did. Now I can easily do 30+ minutes with high resistance, although I usually just run these days. I do body weight and resistance training now as well. I've lost 60 pounds and reached a good weight for myself; now I'm focusing on building muscle.
This little elliptical has been with me every step of the way. While it's no state of the art piece of machinery, it's been really good to me. I don't see it wearing out anytime soon.

This is our first exercise machine and we liked it so far. I think this is one of the best trainers you can get for this price. Like most of other users, we also had the squeaking sound and we figured out that it is coming from the screws that hold the bottom of the front pole. When we loosen them up and pour some olive oil (only oil I had in hand) on to the screws, it worked silently again. So either don't tighten them up so much or apply oil to those screws while assembling (the manual does not say this)
It is also a little wobbly, but like I said, you get what you paid for. Overall, I would recommend this product.

It was easy to understand the assembly it is just that they had the right and left bars mislabeled and that cost me an extra hour to figure out and undo. I love the workout I get and that I feel worked out but am not sore the next day. Very space friendly also.

Quick Calorie Burn on a Budget

The equipment gets the job done. It's kind of minimalist- no bells and whistles, but everything you need for a quick calorie burn on a budget. When a product performs as advertised or exceeds expectation I try to tell others about the experience. The machine offers a digital display of all the basic info (time, calories, distance, speed) and the resistance is set mechanically (non-digital) using a turn knob. The floorprint is also decent; the machine doesn't take up that much space. I was going to buy an old (expensive) one from Play It Again, but so glad I bought this instead. One problem: it squeaks a little. I think I need to tighten up the connectors.

Its great for 30 min cardio and warm up that i use it for over a yr today! compact light so i can move it around my self if i need to and it makes a little noise but i play my ipod and that is out of my way ;D im happy !

I have had my elliptical for just under a month I would say and it serves it's purpose. It was a great price compared the more expensive larger sized equipment out there. As with other reviews, i will say this does make a little bit of noise, but we are okay with it. The TV or music drowns it out. It doesn't calculate miles.. only rotations but does give calorie count and time that has passed as well as a few other things. I would recommend to someone looking for a good price and workout similar to any other.

Had a problem with the tension. Called customer service and spoke to a very helpful and American technician. He told me no problem he would set up a house call and a representative would call to arrange a time to have a specialist come look at my machine for free. The specialist came to my home after work and ordered the broken part and will be back to install it all for FREE. I am sold on the Weslo brand and it's parent company Icon.

Parts are messed up. Cant even put together & Use!

I was excited when I bought this.
We put it together as soon as it got home.
The axle on the pedal has screws thats for no use because the axle hole is bigger than the screw itself. Like putting a pencil thru a paper towel carton. It comes out!
The Handle Axle tabs cant even be put in in order for the handles to stay together to keep you from falling!
The instructions said "tap" the axle top in the axle, impossible!
We tried everything to put it in and it wont, cant hammer it without damaging the plastic top!

The first week I had this Elliptical it was good and didnt make any noises and then the second week it started making really load noises was trying to watch some of my shows on the dvr and couldn't even hear them over the noise of it. Now almost a month old and the back of it is starting to make noises. So I'm considering taking it apart and taking it back and getting a different one!!!

I already love this machine. Working out is a breeze and everything works as it should.
I was reading that some people had noise after assembly and while using, there is no noise with mine. Remember to grease all the joints and bolts that they instruct you too. The machine comes with grease use it.
I read a couple of comments about the heart monitor. It works fine, at first a low # shows but then right after the true heart rate comes up.
I watch my favorite TV shows now on my elliptical instead of on my rear on the couch.

I purchased this item in November 2010. I took it home, put it together and was doing very well putting in 25-30 mins every night and working up a good sweat. That is until April 2011, when the pedal/axle mechanism snapped, and the machine became worthless. I called the manufacturer numerous times. I was on hold for unreasonable periods of time. When I finally got a representative, I can summarize the service I received as unprofessional, unfriendly, and uncaring. I was asked my weight, when I said I was right around 230, the response I got was that the machine has a 250 limit. I replied, "What's your point, I'm under the limit?"; the response I got was that my weight was very close to the limit. At this point, I realized I was not going to have any options discussed rationally, and ended the call. Thus concluded any future transactions with the manufacturer of this worthless machine. Do yourself a favor, do not waste your money on this machine, or any other equipment this cheap manufacturer produces.

I am writing this the first day we brought this machine home. Since my wife and are are very impatient concerning assembly, we had Walmart assemble this for us. (less arguing this way also) Now, we've only used this today, our first day, this machine is extremely quiet, works well, and .I was huffing and puffing in 2 minutes. I need this for more stamina(obviosly) since I had/have a battle going on with cancer and to firm up This should do the trick. My wife wants to firm up and lose some weight. I will check back in a few weeks to tell ya how machine holds out, and us!
I strongly suggest if at all possible, have Walmart assemble it for you, it's free. As for many of those negative posts, most of them sound like poor assembly problems. I've learned over the years, if I want to see a good movie, I go to those with poor reviews by the critics, they are generally the best movies out there. Of course, there are always lemons out there, and 30 days will geneally filter them out.

Great machine for home use! Mine is quiet and sturdy although my knees hit the water bottle holder a few times so I removed it. Some people complained about the short stride but I'm barely 5'3" and it's perfect for me. The higher levels of resistance could be a little harder but for this price I won't complain too much! It's doing it's job!

I've had this for about a month now. It was not difficult to put together, although I have experience at assembling things. It took my fiance and I about an hour to put it together, mostly because our dog kept trying to run away with pieces. It's not outlandishly noisy from what I've experienced with it so far. There is some sound when you're on it, but it's to be expected considering there are moving parts. This is an elliptical machine, not a ninja machine. It's not heavy, I can scoot it around by myself when I'm cleaning. And no, it's not gym quality, but it's not built to be gym quality. It's a good little machine for the price.

I purchased this machine for a female friend of mine and she seems to be pretty satisfied thus far. That being said, she's only been using it for a couple of weeks - so I can't speak to its durability.
While on durability, I don't think that this is the machine for a person who "goes hard" daily (like I do), but if you want an elliptical for home use (3 times or so a week) this may be for you.

Ok so.. This is my first purchase of exercise equipment. So far I was only imppressed by the delivery guy bringing it up the flight of stairs by himself. I got it on the last day of delivery and it took me about 40 minutes to put together. But it's not staying together... I have small hands and not a good grip. So when I tried to tighten the bolts I couldn't and it came apart while I was using it. Other than that it does seem a little out of porportion for my shorter height. I feel like I might go flying forward sometimes or pop off of it. I'm still glad I bought it though its good for a beginner machine and fits in my apartment. Also if I would have gotten something better the machine probably wouldn't have fit onto the Gold Gym exercising mat..That I bought for cheap since I live on the second floor. I didn't hear any horrible noises coming from it the one minute it worked.. I couldn't have even heard it over my mp3 player.
