If you are traveling in Europe as well as wanting to use this GPS in North America then this is a great product. I am in Europe as I write this and it has done very well for me in both France and Spain. If it works as well in Italy, Austria and Switzerland I will consider this one of the best investments I have made in a considerable while.

This is my second personally owned Garmin, I have only used it a few times so far, but find it much improved from my previous unit. I have not used all of the features, but do like having the Garmin Lock feature, since my first unit was stolen. I find lock on time adequate but it could be quicker. So far the accuracy has been very good.

This is my third Garmin and the best. I bought it for the Europe maps but haven't used it there yet.
The new features I like are the speed limit signs (which are very accurate) and the traffic advice.

I just got back from a trip to Europe and this GPS worked great. I rented a car in Scotland, England and France and drove all around these countries. This GPS worked perfectly. Even in the small villages on the Normandy coast of France, this GPS knew each street and direction. This GPS also includes US maps, so I am now using it at home. I highly recommend this product.

Just got back from France used the unit to go all over. It was easy to use and got us to where we wanted to go. I am glad that I had bought this before going.
If you want to pre-plan your trips using via points choose one of the higher priced units.

The product works very well, however after one week the plasic suction cup broke off from the holder. We now have to go through the replacement process, a time consuming event that we did not anticipate so shortly after purchasing. The preloaded European maps are great and we were able to preload some favorites in anticipation of our trip.

I was impressed at the re-routing speed when I missed a turn- it would immediatly re-route me. I used to own a Magellan model that did not re-route quickly. The product is very light weight. It was very easy to set up, turn on, and go. I am very happy overall.
