Purchased the air pump and a small 6 inch stone for a small 5 gallon tank. after setting everything up and running the air line the air stone was not pushing out bubbles. unplugged the stone and put the air line without the check valve to test the pump and only minimal bubbles where produced and would only appear near the waters surface. I took the pump apart to find the issue and the white plastic box that contains the valve and diaphragm was cracked and separated. very poor quality in the materials used. will be getting a proper pump from a pet store.

I have had this thing running for 3 years non-stop and it shows no signs of wearing down. Its quiet if you mount it correctly and puts out real nice airflow. $6 can't buy you much, nevermind something that lasts years without worry.

I have gone through 2 of these Aqua Culture brand air pumps in less then a year, both broke in normal use. I finally went to another site and ordered professional aquarium grade equipment with replaceable parts and a 4 year warranty.

This air pump is not a good value. It says it will run 2 bubble stones but it does not. It will run 1 bubble stone just fine but the 2nd one barely has any bubbles coming out of it. Information on the box should be checked before product is put out for sale. I still use this for one bubble stone but I have had to buy a 2nd pump for my other stone.

Lots of bubbles....and noise

Just bought the 5-15 air pump today for my 10 gallon tank. The price was good and it does make a lot of bubbles but it is loud. I wrapped it in a full size bath towel and still could hear it 12 feet away.
I'll be taking it back tomorrow and trying their whisper unit at 2x the price.

I bought this at my local WalMart & I think I'm going back for another one! It works great, puts out quite a bit of air & isn't too noisy at all. I use it to power a small corner/box filter with some DeNitrate in it to help remove nitrates from my goldfish tank & it's doing it's job well. Lots of bubbles!

I bought this pump for a 10 gallon tank in my office that has a betta, mystery snail and pleco in it. I needed something to oxygenate the tank without the push that my filter system had because it was too much water movement for my betta. I got a 5 inch bubble stone and hooked up this pump and WOW!! I was blown away at how powerful this little thing was! My betta thought I had thrown him into a jacuzzi. I actually had to install a valve to adjust the air flow down. It is a little noisy, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Hopefully it will hold up well, but at this price, how can you go wrong?

This air pump is a tough little pump with plenty of power. I've been using this pump in my 10 gallon and 29 gallon aquariums for about 9 months and haven't encountered a single problem thus far.
It is a little noisy, but if you wrap it in foam or an old sock with a rubber band, you can hardly hear it working.
Excellent; cheap; you get more than you pay for.

Just FYI but I would not recommend wrapping an air pump. They usually generate a lot of heat & containing it will cause the pump to fail faster.

I bought one of these for a ten gallon fry tank and I am very satisfied with it. It was half of the price of the one I bought at a pet chain store and unlike that one, it is almost completely silent. You have to stick your head next to it to hear the faint hum it makes. I keep it on carpet, but the rubber feet make it silent on solid surfaces as well. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a pump.
