This stuff is definitely worth the money, and it is very inexpensive. Lasts for at least 3-4 days. Doesn't look orangey. Definitely wash your hands after applying and use an applicator to apply product to top of hands. Doesn't look streaky or blotchy. Would purchase again. Don't waste your money on something that costs over $20 because this stuff really works. I would prefer to use this product over going to the tanning bed.

I have tried every self tanner out there, trying to find one that actually looks good. This is it! And its not expensive! I tried the most expensive brands, thinking they would look better, but I always turned orange and splotchy. You cant tell I used self tanner. I look like I went in the sun. I also like how it fades completely evenly. Other self tanners usually fade blotchy so you look dirty.

I've tried a couple of other self tanners on the market, but nothing came close to Banana Boat Summer Color. I bought the Deep Dark Color rather than the Medium because I wanted some results. I'm fair-skinned in the winter and really need a pick-me-up in the spring before I get my own tan, and even then my legs in particular will not get properly tan as the rest of me, so this is where a good self tanner comes in for me: LEGS.
The key to this product is application: After exfoliating, apply in a circular motion evenly going easy on knees and ankles - because the bony parts of the leg are less meaty, if you will, and may not take the color as evenly no matter what you do. Just follow the directions on the tube to the letter and make an effort to rub the lotion into your skin and you will get amazing results. And I mean a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
My first application was all I needed - no seconds here - and after swimming twice and showering countless times, I still had some residual product after a week!! A WEEK??! If that's not a bargain for under $7.00, then I don't know how to stay within a budget. There is a slight odor, but the chemical used will always emit some kind of stench, this one is just way more tolerable than most tanners, I can tell you that. I think I'll try to stick with the twice-a-week application schedule for maximum fly appeal.
Overall opinion: this is one of the best bargains and most effective self tanners on the market. I spent about two hours researching. Guess my vanity is showing, huh? ;)

I usually tan moderately well in the sun or in the tanning bed. But..I'm an impatient lady who loves the idea of saving herself from wrinkles in the future. So I tried several bronzers, and this was my favorite.
The Good Stuff: The color looks much more natural than most self-tanners, and the results are immediate. It's wonderful knowing that you can have a gorgeous tan in time for that hot date this weekend or for when you celebrate your friend's birthday downtown. Plus, it's only like $7. There are other products out there that aren't as good but still want to break you. This won't do that to you. Oh, and the smell is, from my experience, practically unnoticeable. You'll smell it when you first put it on and as it's drying, but the aroma leaves once you take a nice shower.
The Not-So-Good Stuff: You WILL start to splotch if you go 2-3 days without using it. I did that a couple of times, and since the color was so natural looking, my coworkers thought I'd just gone out into the sun and that I was at that point starting to peel. I mean, that's better than "Eww buy a different tanner!" but it's not really what you're going for. That being said, you may want to keep some rubbing alcohol handy for when you don't want to have it on your skin anymore. Also, don't freak out when it starts to dry. It scares my sister every time she sees me with it on my skin before I shower all the crud off the next morning. You will look like a bad parody of Jersey Shore until you shower it of. BUT. Once you take the shower, you'll be left with a lovely, even color. :)

Doesn't turn you orange! Obviously, don't just slather it on three times in one day, but after maybe 2 uses in a day, you are a bronze goddess! Beautiful!

I purchased this product about a two weeks ago because my tanning membership expired and I have been looking quite pale, so I decided to give it a try. It tanned my skin pretty quick, but I applied two coats. MAKE SURE you rub it in and distribute it evenly or else you will be splotchy. Also, directly after applying it WASH YOUR HANDS. Or else you will have really orange hands. The smell is not that great and if you get it on fabric it will stain it.

As many of the other reviewers have said, this is a great product. My wife has tried using several sunless tanners, and we finally got around to buying this one after reading some reviews online. It goes on very smooth and it is easy to see so that you can ensure there won't be any streaks. Develops into a very natural looking tan, even receiving compliments and questions such as "You look so tan, have you been on vacation?"
My wife is very light skinned, but I agree with the other reviews that the "Deep Dark" color is the way to go. It dries fairly light and will only develop a darker color if you reapply consecutive days.
Color lasts nicely for about a week... we tend to reapply it every 4-5 days to clean, dry skin.

I bought this because it seemed like a better deal than Jergens, plus I liked that it was tinted. However, being that it's smaller than the typical Jergens, it's probably about the same cost/oz. The color was MUCH too orange for my liking. I can't really imagine a skin tone it would compliment. The formula was also not very moisturizing, so my skin was dry and began to flake within a few days. Albeit it is winter... It resulted in spottiness that looked like a giraffe, not cool. This really brings me back to the very first fake tanners I tried, when they were just becoming popular. I switched back to Jergens, and when I want to splurge a little more Fake Bake is totally worth it.

I bought this sunless tanner to help fill in the areas on my skin that don't normally see the sun. It has a hint of color to it so you can see where it is going and blend in accordingly. It gave me a beautiful tan that was not orangy at all. Looks very natural. Only drawback is that there is that funky sunless tanner "smell" that appears after a few hours. It's not terrible but it's there....at least on me. Oh, the color lasts for days and fads gently. Will definitely buy again.

I purchase this to givy skin a glow seeing as im already tan and black lol. It works very good i was afraid i'll turn out like snookie her tan is always blotchy but its no smear so it gives me even tone i highly recommend this product.

I am a sun worshipper and I have a medium to dark tan and prefer not to have my face tanned by the sun as much as my body to avoid wrinkles and sun freckles. This product blends in perfectly with the natural tan I have on my face.

I have used self tanners for years and this one really is the best. I would recommend this darker color for people that have somewhat of a good base. Application is the KEY! I have good technique on the application, so I do not end up with streaks and lines. If you are just starting out, I would go to the light/medium version of this tanner. Practice makes perfect.

I have used this product for 4 years now and love it!! It gives me a deep dark color without any streaking or splotches. I find it very easy to use. As long as you exfoliate with a loofa beforehand I don't see how you can have any problems. I have taken time to put it on, but also very quickly and have had no problems.
The color is very natural....I have people compliment me on the tan, and usually don't tell them it is fake. It looks like I have been outdoors all day in the sun.

And I have tried them all! Easy to use, has a really great color. Dark enough without being too dark or looking fake. I get compliments on my tan all of the time. People are always surprised when I tell them it's a self tanning lotion! A couple days worth and you really look deeply tanned. It stays on well in the shower. I can't find it in the stores anywhere here so I order it online. AND if you do get a dark streak by mistake use a Mr Clean cleaning sponge and rub with that and it will come off. Love, love, love this Sunless tanner. It's a 10 in my book.

I have used this for at least 8 years now. I like to tan, indoors and outdoors (I live 10 mins from a beach). Now that I've turned 50 I am a little more careful about my UV exposure. This product is amazing on it's own, but it's really great when used to enhance a tan, so I don't feel the need to be in the UVs as often. I hope Banana Boat never stops making this product!

This product was introduced to me last yr from a friend of mine. I always spent $40 on a salon spray on tan. I asked where she got hers and showed me this product. I used it and fell in love. Not only is it cheaper,it's better! It's more even,more golden in color, not orange, lasts longer, and fades more evenly. (it doesn't look like a shedding snake a few days later) I bottle lasts me about 4 full body tx. (I'm 5'11") So yes, buy this. It is the best!
