I had this calculator for about 7 years when it just randomly broke the other day... the screen would go black and I was pretty bummed, but I needed another one for my economics class so I had to order a new one right away. It came on and with a fresh set of batteries... just what i needed! Im hoping it will last me another 7 years if not longer =)

This is a good calculator for statistics and that type of chart generating computation. I would NOT recommend this for any AP Calculus course since the TI-89 is far superior in that field. This one is by far the better for the statistics applications

Durable and Worth the Money,

I needed to get this calculator back in 2002 for my middle school math class, and it has survived and served me well throughout high school and now into college math. It is useful for basic math, especially for graphing, and also has the ability to do more complicated functions as they come up. I would say that this is completly worth the price because it has never once failed in the 7 years I have been using it!

My son is taking Algebra II in his Junior year of high school and this is the calculator that the teacher recommended. I was trying to purchase one that he could continue using in college. He is satisfied and it gets the job done, but he wishes that I had purchased the TI-84 instead. I guess it does a little more, and at the time I purchased there wasn't a huge price difference.

Good, but expensive,

I bought this calculator for a statistics class. It was helpful, and saved me a lot of time. I did use a borrowed one more for a calculus class. The graphing calculator saved my life. However, it's expensive , especially if you need if for only one class. It is durable (I've dropped it a couple of times) and batteries seems to last a while. I do enjoy the bigger screen so I can see where I messed up. Also , because of the answer repeat function, you don't have to retype everything. I was able to use this for binomials, graphing, matrices etc. It is a bit complicated to figure out if you don't have a manual. Overall, a good bye although if you only need it for one class, I'd consider borrowing or buying it used.
