I was looking for a all natural fiber supplement with no added sugar, artificial sweeteners or dyes. In the past, I have tried other all natural products, and they all were very coarse in texture, hard to mix with water and hard to swallow. This product is much smoother in texture and mixes easily with water.

Konsyl has no additives and has nearly twice the grams of Psyllium fiber. It is far superior to Metamucil. I have used it happily for about a decade.

The best thing about this brand of fiber is that it gives you lots of fiber for very few calores. The next best thing is that it's not sweetened, either with sugar or with artificial sweeteners. Because it's not sweetened, it's lower in calories than brands which contain sugar and easier to digest than those sweetened with alcohol sugars. Also, it can be used with vegetable juices. The downside to this original Konsyl is that it requires a jar with a tight-fitting lid to shake it up. You can't just stir it with a spoon, because it leaves big lumps floating on the surface.

We have been using this brand for years for my cats, my husband and myself. For my cats I mix 1/4 tsp with wet cat food, add some water and let it sit for at least 20 minutes before giving it to them. They always eat it. It really took care of the hairballs and constipation in my longhair cats. It has no added sugar or orange flavoring. For an adult human dose use 1 TBS daily and if you let it swell first in liquid it's less likely to cause nausea. Though rare, some people are allergic to psyllium so if your face swells do not use it again. You might like it better if you mix it with apple juice instead of water. It's a great way to get fiber in your diet.
