Crock-PotCrock-Pot 5-Quart Smart-Pot Slow Cooker
The Crock-Pot 5-Quart Smart-Pot Slow Cooker does the thinking so you don't have to. A perfect addition to your kitchen, this programmable cooker provides you with hot food when you get back home after a hectic day. Simply set the cooking time on "High" for 4 or 6 hours or on "Low" for 8 or 10 hours and go about your day. After the pre-selected cooking time is completed, the Crock-Pot programmable slow cooker shifts to the warm setting and maintains the flavor of the food. The 5-quart stoneware used in this cooker is removable and is dishwasher safe. It can be used for serving too. This stoneware slow cooker is perfect for a family of 4-5.

Good, but could be better

Good crock pot, except the handle cracked & broke off after a while and hubby had to replace it with a handle from the hardware store. If you have to do this, make sure and use a stainless steel screw or it will rust! (We learned the hard way the first time!) Also, one thing I don't like is that it doesn't seem like there is any difference between the high and low settings so foods like spaghetti sauce can get overcooked and burned on after all day of cooking. I wouldn't want to leave this on all day while away, but at least it has settings so that after the amount of hours you set it for it does go to a keep warm setting.

Does the job verlyl well, but because it is not programable on time and most receipes have times other then the preset ones, you have to keep track of when it is done.

mine is 7 quart. works great!!!

Those that say it "burns food" probably haven't read the directions, you need it to be at least 1/2 full of liquid to properly "slow cook". Took me forever to get my wife to understand that. My only complaint is the control on mine will not STAY ON unless you HOLD THE BUTTON DOWN until it stops flickering. This has gradually gotten worse until it takes 10-12 minutes of holding the button pushed before it will stay on. Still use it, works great!!!!!

Gets the job done

This was a replacement for the manual crockpot I previously owned. This crock-pot cooks your food and gets the job done. I love the timer options too but it does burn your food. I plan on spending a little more to get the Hamilton Beach crock-pot so I can use my Crockin Girls cookbook. Now I put this crock-pot away for a year because it burned the food. I found using crock-pot bags helped so I wasn't scraping the stoneware and I could also pull the burned portions away from my food. Other than that I wouldn't buy this product again, but it does get the job done if you don't mind a little burn on your food.

I love crock-pots and own several in different sizes. This one is my favorite. I use crock pot liners to keep clean-up easier but even when I don't a short soak and it's clean. So far I've had it 1 yr and it has never failed me. I have seen some complaints of overheating but mine has never done so. In fact I have used all settings with good results. If I needed another of this size I would buy the same model.

Review 12 for Crock-Pot 5-Quart Smart-Pot Slow Cooker
Keeps giving me an error

I've had this crock pot for about 2 years. It was fine until abut 6 months ago. I start it cooking... low 10 hours... and it's fine for maybe 4 hours, and then it starts acting up. A few of the lights flash & it goes cold. I have to restart it over and over. 5x today... just cooking a roast. Crockpots should not need replaced this often. (This is my 3rd crockpot... in 4 years.)

Love it!

I have had this Crock Pot for 5 years and have never had a problem with burnt food or anything breaking/malfunctioning. Even baked onn food comes off relatively easily, and I rarely have to soak it to get it clean. I love the automatic switch to warm setting, this is a great product that I use at least once a week. Saves a lot of time and dishes!

Love This Crock Pot!

I put off buying a programmable Crock Pot because I didn't really see the importance of it - that is, until I bought one! If you happen to like making desserts in the Crock Pot, you will find this programmable one indispensable - anyone who's ever cooked a lava cake too long will certainly LOVE this machine! No more racing home in time - this model cooks to the time you set it and then automatically switches to the Warm cycle. Quite simply - Buy One - you won't regret it! =)

Yesterday we cooked a roast in it and it cooked so hot that the ceramic bowl developed about a million small cracks (it fractured). Some of the juices from the meat escaped through the cracks. That's it... into the garbage it goes. The last crock pot we had lasted over 15 years, I guess that it is too much to expect it to last five years. We're searching for another one, one that will last.

Best Crock-Pot ever, but Don't Get White!

I love the features of this crock-pot. It's really diverse and the temperatures are really the temperatures. Warm is really warm. Hot is really hot. My old crockpot had a low setting but it still got too hot. This is wonderful. I love the timer. Unfortunately it's hard to clean the outside of the unit when someone splashes chili on it. I should have gotten black!

Was going to use it for New Years Day dinner. Plugged it in, went to church, came home to cold ruined food. It looked so good as a decoration, not a working item. Very disappointing for our guests and me. But thanks anyway. Will be taking it back for a refund and ask that our ruined food be reimbursed.
