We purchased this system and after 7 months it stopped working. We had to call Philips and they we very nice and replaced it. However the replacement broke as well, this time no sound and the DVD would not stop playing without pushing the open button or turning the unit off. We eventually had to request a refund from philips. The radio worked well.

THE PRICE LOOKED GOOD,THE REVIEWS SOUNDED GOOD,THE SYSTEM OFFERED ALOT FOR THE MONEY,AND IT ALMOST HAD 5 STARS SO WHAT MORE COULD I ASK FOR??????????? WELL ONE LITTLE THING THEY FORGET TO TELL YOU IS IF YOU HAVE COMCAST CABLE THE REMOTE INTERFERS WITH THE SYSTEM.EVERY TIME IF I HAVE THE SYSTEM OFF AND DONT WANT IT ON WHEN I CHANGE THE CHANNEL ON THE TV WITH THE REMOTE THE PHILIPS HOME SYSTEM COMES THE HECK ON.I HAVE TO UNPLUG IT IF I DONT WANT IT TO COME ON LIKE IN THE MORNING WHEN PEOPLE ARE SLEEPING AND DONT NEED IT TO BE SO LOUD.

This system has excellent sound, easy to install and is lightweight. Not heavy and bulky like some home theater systems. I would recommend this to anyone with a small room as well as a large room. The speakers give clear crisp sound and i love the built in radio. A great product!

This small set requires a large space and time to setup. Too many wires and speakers which are not pretty to sit around in a furnished room. Looks like a tangled mess. Not for a small apartment. Too much involved for the system to work. Not user friendly. This product was returned for refund.

We are happy with this home theater, we think a lot before we did never bought any hometheater before but so far so good we hope it last for a while we had one before from another brand but the disc door wasnt working eny more always stack and the movies always have problems, they just frez in the midle of the show we hate it so got tire and bought a new one the old one last for about; 4 years, we used the pick up to store and it arived before we expected, no problems wit it so far a little time to hook cables up; consider i never done it before was easy. We recomend this product good sound my living room is small so for us is perfect i will buy another for my other bedroom to watch tv, some time whent i have other people in the house,/.

This is a good product if you have a 10 year old tv. I got the home theater system as a bundle with a Vizio 32 inch LCD tv. The only cable included is a single video out. Also there is no HDMI ports on the DVD player and no optical audio port. I feel this is an insult to such a great tv.

I would only recommend this audio system for non-HD setups. I noticed a few people have said in other reviews that it didn't come with the correct cables. However, the problem is not with the cables, it's with the actual inputs in the back of this sound system. This unit DOES NOT include audio optical input or HDMI hookups. For my Vizio TV it's useless to hook up a home theater system without audio/optical and HDMI. I now have to return this sound system and upgrade to a more expensive system to get these features.

Connector / Wiring issues,

Philips does not make the connectors available to make the reaer speakers (Or any other speakers) reach farther. You can not wire these speakers to an exisisting pre-wired home for a theater / entertainment system. I spoke Directly to Philips and they stated any splicing or altering the connectors or wires will void the warrenty. Radio Shack and Best Buy do not have these connectors. More connectors are Essential if you do not want to trip over speaker wires. This product may work well in a small apt. environment without children.

It was everything I wanted for my living room in the apartment I live in. The order on Walmart.com was very quick and easy. The home theater system arrived at Walmart faster than the anticipated arrival dates. The employees at Walmart were also very helpful. When I got it home the directions were very easy to read and I put the entire thing together in an hour (I'm a 26 yr. old female). I had to get the cable to hook the system up to my tv, but now I can watch tv, dvd's and play music on the home theater system. It sounds awesome! I haven't even put it up to the full volume for fear my neighbors will come knocking on my door. I was very impressed - for the price and the exceptional quality it was a great purchase.

I've had this system for approximately 6 months...the dvd player went out...it has to be wired FROM the speakers, so it isn't even easy to replace...have to go into attic. The product is below the acceptable standard!

I purchased this item and after 3 months the remote and DVD system started to fail. The DVD's constantly stop while during play and it often locks up. The remote works only if I "bang" on it and then it may or may not work. Very poor quality to fail after such a short duration of ownership. Would not recommend.
