Venturer 8'' Portable DVD Player, Black

It might sound like a great deal - $59 for a portable DVD player. But it isn't. Spend the extra $20 or $30 to buy a Sony or something better. This player doesn't last more than an hour when it's fully charged. Try to explain a "dead battery" halfway through a movie to a 4-year-old on an airplane from California to Florida. NOT FUN. I wish I had purchased something with a lot higher quality.

I cannot say enough about this little DVD player! My mother purchased 2 of these last Christmas for my kids and 2 others for my nieces. All are still going strong!! They have been dropped, spilled on, you name it and we have NEVER had a problem. These are an ABSOLUTE lifesaver on car trips!!!!! We have never had any problems with the length of the charge either. They have watched full length movies and then some on a single charge. I highly, highly recommend!! :)

The speakers aren't very good can barely hear the movies. Battery doesn't stay charged had to keep it plugged into the car charger in order to watch a movie. It started smoking while my 2 year old was watching it and needless to say it won't work now. Thought it was a good deal but should have spent a little more and got a better brand.

I got this on Black Friday as a replacement portable for an upcoming trip Disney. I figured 50 bucks was a good value. Now 8 months later and this dvd player will not even hold a charge. This player boasts a 2 to 3 hour playtime...yeah for the first 2 weeks. Save your cash and buy a Sony or Phillips player instead. Even better use the money for a brand name portable and get a lowend laptop.

I bought two for my kids to watch DVD's on a 3 hour trip, according to the instructions, it should have a 2-3 hour battery life, which is NOT true. Mine only lasted 1 hour each. You can spend anouther $10-30 for a car charger but not worth it if you ever plan a airline trip. Spend a little more and go with a TRUSTED brand.

The DVD player works okay and the picture is fine, but the lack of a remote control is annoying. The directions are minimal, so we are just pressing buttons trying to figure out if the player can do things. I still haven't figured out if I can show captions without going through the DVD's menu. It was a good price for an 8" player but not the easiest to use.

We bought this dvd player for my son's as a chiristmas gift last christmas. It has worked fine. I honestly don't know how long the charge last because we always leave it plugged in in the car. No it does NOT come with a car charger but we just got an inverter(good to have anyways). It has done better than I expected. My five year old has even dropped it on the ground from a few feet up and it's still kickin'. My only complaint is that the screen falls so you can't just sit it somewhere. My son has to hold it for him and his brother to watch. I recently bought a case that mounts in your car. Well, needless to say the dvd player closes every few minutes making it a very big pain. We are in the process of looking for a new one for our vacation this week. It has served it's purpose. I recommend this if you are looking for a cheap dvd that your kids can tear up and not be upset about how expensive it was. You get what you pay for. I bought this for $50 on black friday @ walmart. Overall decent dvd player.

The dvd player looked nice and the case was nice. We used it the first time and the dvd player skipped and we had to take it back.

I have purchased 2 of these for my grandkids & getting ready to purchase 2 more. Best value for the money. They have been dropped & banged around & they keep working just like the day I bought them.
