There are several things I like about this product:
1. The light is very bright - it is much brighter than a 1 watt (45 lumens I think) led flashlight that I have. I can believe the claim of 80 lumens.
2. The construction appears to be pretty rugged - the aluminum casing gives the appearance of being substantial and it has O rings for weather sealing. I don't think it claims to be water proof though.
3. The color filters can be pretty useful in some situations. I used the red filter on an owling hike recently and while it wasn't bright enough to search among the branches for an owl that was calling (the red filter filters out all the other colors and the remaining light let through is pretty dim in comparison - will be true of all white light flashlights) once I spotted the owl, I could follow it when it moved. Great for hiking in near darkness - it lights up the path in front of you without affecting your night vision. I haven't used the blue filter.
4. The claimed 25 hours for 3AAA batteries is absolutely great and much higher than most competing flashlights of the same output. I still have to see if it's true though.
I wish that it had provision for a lanyard or a loop so that it would be secure even it you dropped it. I was on a boat at night recently and didn't dare hold it over the water fearing that I might drop it. A pity.
