Thank you to all of you who have written a review about the generic prilosec. I am just starting out on it and have been taking prescription ranitidine for over 6 months now with no real relief. I was a bit worried it was going to be the same result with the omeprazole but you all have doused those fears. I have severe indigestion so this will be a blessing i am sure. Thanks again to all of you and many more.

I was taking Nexium 40 for the last 3 years. Omeprazole 20 works just as good as the Nexium 40. And it cost much less. I will let all my friends that have heart burn know about this product. IT IS GREAT!!!

This product is very effective and the price is certainly better than the name brands. I agree about the packaging being difficult to open. I routinely use scissors to open these types of things because they are all packaged that way and I doubt that will ever change.

my husband has ibs and severe acid reflux. he has been taking prilosec for years and its very expensive! we decided to just try this and its just as effective and the cost is HALF as much! that really adds up! thank you again walmart for making a product thats a little nicer on the wallet and that still does the job!

Better Than Nexium

Oddly enough, generic over-the-counter omeprazole works better for me at controlling my chronic heartburn than prescription Nexium. Nexium helped, but I still got heartburn anyway, although not as frequently. With omeprazole, I get no heartburn. Nada, zip, NUTHIN'. I will be using this on a regular basis (doctor said it was okay).

Can't get the caplets out of the package

Omeprazole works extremely well for me. However, when I attempt to pop the caplet through the foil/paper backing on the sheet of seven, it becomes the chore of the day. I am male, 48 years old, healthy and have strong hands and fingers. But, those plastic and paper reinforced foil packages are frustrating to say the least. Half the time I end up using a pair scissors to open the darn things. I feel for the folks with weaker hands.
