When I adopted my cat from a local rescue shelter, there was a 30 check-up offered by our local vet. When he asked what I was feeding my British Shorthair (which is a very large muscular breed) I told him the Wal-Mart brand Maxximum. He told me it was one of the best, because it had no animal by-products in it and was very high protein. Also, it doesn't kill the wallet like the "specialty pet foods" do. I now have two cats and both have done very well on the Adult formula. Wish it came in a bigger bag!
My ferret was raised on the Kitten formula and now won't touch anything else! I hope they never stop selling it because getting a ferret to change brands is extremely difficult!
