I've had a couple of other brand pocket radios over the last 5 or 6 years, including a Sony Walkman, and this radio totally blows them out of the water. The sound is crystal clear, the stereo is superb, and the presets feature is icing on the cake.

Amazing reception, simple operation and really nice buttons. I put this through the wringer for a few days and there are no problems at all. This is not your run of the mill portable.
This also has four fm bands for international travel. the ear buds are good quality and double as the antenna. LCD battery monitor is nice. Scanning and presetting is easy. Auto shut off seems to not be a problem. Worth every penny.

Bought this to replace a lost Sony Walkman. The Sangean is much smaller and the buttons are not as likelly to be as accidentally pushed (as is the Sony) when clipped to a shirt pocket (which is the way I normally carry a small radio). The reception is as good as or better than the Walkman. A much more convenient portable source for radio listening while on the go.

I needed a small radio I could have inside my shirt (ear buds coming out my collar) at work, that is light weight and works well. This one is exceptional. I've had many over the years, cheaper prices but this is worth the price. The digital locking was a great selling point for me, since with knobs tend to change the station when touched accidentally, but this locks the station in place. Battery life is longer. I use rechargeable battery and the old radio I had used two and only got like two-three days life at eight hours a day. This uses one AAA and lasts me a week! I think its a swell radio!

I bought this because I have a Sangean PR-D7 that I like very much. I wanted something I could carry in my purse for times I wanted to listen. I am not sorry I did.
This little radio is attractive and extremely portable. It's tiny, trim, and lightweight. It has a lock so you can stick it with confidence into a pocket or purse and know that it won't turn itself on (or off) or change the channel on you in your pocket. It also will shut itself off after an extended period of time, which to me is a plus. If you want to listen to the radio for more than an hour and a half, you can just turn the darn thing on again.
It stores several channels, and is the only thing I own that I can remember how to program without having to dig out the instructions again.
Unlike a lot of reviewers, I actually like the earphones it comes with. But it doesn't have a speaker, so you have to use earphones. Adding a speaker would no doubt add to the size and weight of the radio. I love that it adds no weight to my purse and fits easily in my purse's cell phone pocket.
The only drawback is that I can get only a couple of radio stations to come in at the fitness center. I'm surrounded by televisions that I can tune into if I like, but if I want to listen to a certain radio station, I'm out of luck. Maybe that's an impossible task to give a little radio like this one.

Excellent at pulling stations in. Great clear sound. Easy to use. Small and good looking. It can be hung around your neck if desired, it has a place on top where you can insert a small metal ring like you see on key chains.

However, despite the presence of several or more attractive features, especially the digital dialing, I quickly discovered this well built radio failed to meet my needs. For one thing, it features a row of push buttons or switches of some sort for which the instructions for their use are in tiny print and difficult to handle, at least for an old guy like me.

Overall I like it the only thing is the power button takes a couple of pushes before it turns on without the lock in the back on. I would have liked it to power on a little more easily I can see that the button is a little off on the product so I can see why it takes a couple of pushes it power on. My fingertips get a little sensitive when I have to push it in a couple of times.

The radio works well, good reception, good sound quality and nice features. It has no speaker, earphones only. Sangean radios are high quality but costly, maybe it could be a little lower price.
It arrived site to store quickly, about 1/2 the estimated tme.

Seems everyone is into the MP3 players- but, I am not. I just wanted a portable radio for my walks. I have purchased Sangean before, I own a larger portable radio they make, and I find their products get decent reception. I found the same to be pretty true with this product. I also like the pre-program buttons for quickly getting to saved stations. Sound quality was good.

I purchased this am/fm pocket radio so that I could listen to AM talk radio with a better quality reception than I was getting with cheaper AM radios. Although Sangean has a very good reputation, I found the quality in my DT-120 lacking. It seems the reception in this model for AM is worse than the less expensive Sangean pocket radio that I bought a couple of years ago. The FM quality is very good in my DT-120 expecially with the bass boost for music, however, I usually use my MP3 with FM when I want to listen to FM radio because it's smaller. This DT-120 looked much smaller in the picture and the width measurment advertised was smaller than actual width. Another positive; the number of pre-sets is great. I think it has 15, which my other Sangean does not have. Still looking for a really good, small, AM pocket radio that gets good reception.

Nice light weight pocket radio

In the end, I love this pocket radio. I really like the easy of the Sangean presets, the auto turn off after 90 minutes and after 10 seconds if earphones are not attached and location of all the function buttons/switches. Why the average rating? I bought this radio for use in a fitness center. The first time I used it, it did not get good FM reception at all. My $10 Coby radio got really good reception but, it uses 2 batteries and therefore weighs more and setting the presets was not as easy. At first I was going to return the Sangean radio but, then wondered if the problem could be the earphones as those are your FM antenna. So I switehd earphones to some I already had and what do you know, the reception is now great. Maybe the earphones that came with my radio were defective, I don't know. So I am keeping my newly purchased Sangean and am very happy although I still think it is overpriced.

Like this little radio. No "crossover" reception problems. Live in Albuquerque, and late at night, I can listen to 2 Dallas stations that I like. Also very compact.

This product would not stay on for 15 seconds. We changed batteries and it did not help. This was one of my husbands Christmas presents, which he did not even get to enjoy. I had to return it before Christmas and did not have time to shop for another similar item.
