Tetra Tetra Whisper 2-10i Power Filter
For convenience and quiet, choose a Tetra Whisper 10i Filter. These Tetra Whisper Aquarium Filter mount on the inside of the aquarium, rather than hanging from the outside, making it possible to place the tank flush against a wall. These 2-10i Tetra Whisper Power Filter are unusually quiet, since the motor is under the water. Offering the same quality and performance as an external filter, the Tetra Whisper 10i Filter will function in as little as two inches of water, allowing it to be used for turtle tanks or for creating a waterfall inside the tank. Designed for aquariums up to 10-gallons, the Tetra Whisper Aquarium Filter features adjust easily to high or low water levels with mounting suction cups and/or brackets. Each Tetra Whisper 10i Filter comes with one pre-assembled whisper filter cartridge.

I purchased this filter about 3 weeks ago to go in my 10 gallon tank. I had to bring in my goldfish from a small outdoor pond because of the cold weather. This filter is so quiet that I didn't even know it was running! Gldfish are some of the dirtiest fish out there, and this filter has kept their tank beautiful! There are about 10 of the feeder size (a little bigger for a few of them) in this 10 gal tank.
* will be enlarging tank size and filter size by spring. (one pet project at the time)

This filter worked very well for my turtle aquarium for 4 years. I gave it to a friend and she is still using it for her fish.I replaced it with the next size up since his new aquarium was larger. Easy to clean- I highly recommend it.

This Tetra Power Filter is a great choice for someone that needs a filter for a small aquarium or betta bowl. It has a good water flow rated and is small and compact. The filter pad is easy to replace. It is also very quiet.

I have several fish tanks (from 10 gallons to 135 gallons) and by far this filter (of any size) works wonders on keeping my tanks clean. I even had someone ask if I had just cleaned the tanks because they looked so clean.

Would I recommend this to a friend? Maybe depending on what they had. For the price yes. If you want it quiet you have to put it into the water more otherwise you get a waterfall sound in your room. It looks like it cleans the water but yet there is somewhat of a cloudy effect like other reviews have mentioned. So that is why I am iffy if I would recommend this to a friend. We had to add more water to the tank to get it to be quiet and we really didnt want to add more water. We bought this for a small turtle and we had bought 2 very small goldfish we were told the turtle would eat and he never has so they are staying aive and getting bigger.

Cloudy water still there

I don't recommend this filter.I bought it a week ago and on the third day the water started getting cloudy . I waited a day to see if the filter would clean it but it didn't . The next day I changed the filter cartidge and the water was still cloudy . I do not recommend this product . This didn't work for me . It may work but you never know.

I've a 10 gallon tank with a Betta and he loves this filter over my last filter which was not as quiet as this one and also would make it difficult for him to build his bubbles nest. So far pretty happy with it.

Water is cloudy

I purchased this unit to keep a 5 gallon tub of heated water clear. ( I use the warm water to surround a carboy to keep the must warm when making wine.) I started with clear water. After one week, the water became cloudy. There are no additives or anything else in the water - just plain old water - and yet it has become cloudy. Three weeks later, it's still cloudy. Apparently, this thing doesn't do the job. If it can't keep plain water clear, it's not much of a filter.

I have had 11 tigers and tetras for 2 yrs ,i decided to change filters because everyone says this one is SO good and its Quiet Well it is quiet BUT it doesnt work .within 2 days i lost 8 fish and my tanks looked and smelled like the sewer.i managed to save the last 3 fish by going back to my original filter ,(the 5-15 external filter)

I bought this filter after exchanging another one from Walmart for the SECOND time and this one has really done its job . It was a dollar more than the other one , but I was tired of returning and exchanging it over and over , so I purchased this one and it really saved me ! I didn't give it a 100% satisfaction rating just because I've only had it for a few weeks and I wanna see how it does . But I decided to rate it now because it's doing so well . Hopefully this one works out !

I had been using another, more expensive filter before I bought this one and the more expensive one had stopped working. The previous filter no longer pumped water and so this purchase was more an emergency need for a filter. I was in the process of cleaning out my tank and the old filter would not work (again). It was not this brand, but another brand that I also bought from Walmart when I first set up my tank. I got this filter home and set up and it was working within minutes. I had no trouble with it and it is silent. My old filter was loud and it was much bigger, even though it was for the same size tanks as this filter. My tank is a 5 gallon and this filter starting cleaning the water of the debris that the other filter would not clean. I could see it working immediately and the water is much clearer now. I love this filter.

I am using this filter in a 10 gallon tank with too many goldfish. Goldfish produce a lot of waste. The whisperer filter takes care of most of it and keeps the tank clean. It is also totally quiet as it cycles the water through. I'm very happy with this filter.
