Bought for my 7 year old daughter to use with a generic MP3 player and it works just fine, but puts a major drain on the player's battery for some reason 'cause it uses its own batteries. What I didn't know is that the dog doesn't need to be plugged into a player and will react (and dance) to external music playing from the radio or from the sound of conversation.
I'm surprised that my daughter actually prefers the "free" clip that came with iDog 'cause she can go mobile with her music. It doesn't dance, but the face lights up to the music. This does not work on external sound, it must be plugged in to some kind of player.
Walmart beat any price I could find on the internet, including ebay and Amazon and the free "ship to store" was great.
So far, very pleased with the purchase. I like the little dog - especially it's little tapping foot.
