My son really wanted a Rock Band 2. He insisted on having one ever since he laid eyes on his little sister's set. He got really upset recently though when the system kept freezing up on him and he ended up losing the game. My little girl is fed up with hers because the batteries keep falling out. In my opinion (because I'm the one who has to fix it and keep my kids calm about it) think that the batteries are located in a bad spot (under the drum pads). I believe the batteries' location might be the root of both my children's issues.

I purchased this for my 2 sons ages 10 and 12. They had enjoyed playing the original Rock Band with their uncle and have b een enjoying this every since I gave it to them. The equipment is much sturdier then in RB1 (for example, the drumsets foot pedal on RB1 is all plastic and was known to snap in half after repeated use, but with RB2 it's metal reinforced) and the only issue we've had so far is with the drumsticks splintering a bit but not to the point they need to be replaced. All in all it's a great game the whole family can enjoy and the setlist includes songs from multiple decades making everyone happy.

We totally love this. The whole family plays and with the No Fail mode, my 4 and 6 year olds can "rock out" without getting booed off stage. Way fun!

Everything else has worked fine but the drums quit working the third time we used them. It starts looseing signial to the system and you have to turn it off and back on but it quits about 10 seconds later and you have to do it again.

I bought this as an early Christmas present for my boyfriend. Within a week the drum pedal broke due to the extremely weak plastic hinge. Maybe if you have an 8 year old kid they won't break it, but if you're a teen/adult good luck, he really wasn't being hard on it. He contacted EA though and they were very good and agreed to send him a new pedal. However, in addition, now the entire drum set loses signal and just turns off every few songs. It's very frustrating to keep losing songs when you shouldn't, especially when playing online. This seems to be a common problem as we've read other reviews online with the same issue. Again, EA has been wonderful and agreed to send a new drum set, but at this point he's giving up and planning to buy the $300 Ion Drum Rocker. That being said, the game is a lot of fun, great songs, and a much better guitar than older versions. Walmart also seems to have the best price, at least when I purchased, and EA has been very supportive.

I bought this as a gift for my 14 and 10 year old sons and 11 and 7 year old daughters. They all love playing the instruments and singing. The song selection is great and the instruments are quieter than Guitar Hero. However, when this package was delivered, it was left on my front porch in a clear plastic bag in the rain. I thought leaving such an expensive package like that was ridiculous as everyone knew what it was and anyone could have taken it. Worse yet my son almost saw it which would have ruined the surprise. Do yourselves a favor and purchase this item directly from the store.

I had very little desire to play music games before and was happy playing Madden, GTA IV, and Resident Evil type games. After hearing so much hype about Rock Band, and having friends and daughter rave about it, I figured I'd give it a try. It surprised me how addictive it is. First night I received it we played it for 6 straight hours. It's awesome playing with family or friends, and even fun playing alone. It is hard to learn a lot of the songs, but is a lot of fun, and definitely worth the price.
